Knysna is a beautiful place for holidays - very quiet and peaceful holiday destination - beautiful views with mountains , beautiful lakes , beaches , nature. We booked at Pezula Golf Estate , but having an access at Pezula Nature's Retreat Hotel was excellent - having dinner and breakfast at the hotel was excepitionally wonderful - food and hospitality is at it's best level.

Knysna town has changed, not for the better unfortunately.
Knysna town has changed, not for the better unfortunately. All the gift stores, furniture shops (Knysna was famous for locally produced, quality wooden furniture), most of the coffee shops and restaurants have gone. The suburbs are still lovely though. We stayed in Belvidere across the lagoon which is absolutely beautiful. Tourists must now go to Thesen Island if they want quality food and beverage options. We also felt that accommodation options have become very pricey which makes it an expensive destination for locals paying in Rand. Its a golfers paradise. Visit Simola (best views in Knysna), Pezula and Knysna golf clubs. The Heads are as lovely as ever - a must visit. In Belvidere, one must visit the old stone church, Holy Trinity. So small, quaint and full of spirit! Knysna is well positioned to visit George, Wilderness, Sedgefield and Plettenberg Bay.

We love Knysna as it is a lovely little town in the heart of The Garden Route. It is a great base for exploring the numerous Natural beauty that surrounds it. The town has a lovely arty vibe with all the shops and restaurants you could want.

Fantastic view on Knysna's lagoon and the Heads, you see all of the town from a few blocks above main street. Panoramic terrace. Rooms #1 to #3 are huge and have incredible direct view over the lagoon and the town. Staff was very friendly. furniture is a bit old fashioned but very tasteful, bed is very comfortable. Strelitzia was very helpful.

Fantastic views towards the Knysna Lagoon and the Heads (link to the ocean). Lovely decorated rooms, very clean, decorated with great attention to detail. Lovely surrounding on Leisure Island, great for sports (jogging, biking, canoe), coffee shop and restaurants on the island. Very kind and professional staff. A must see/stay!
