It was easy to travel around the island.
It was easy to travel around the island. Remarkable Rocks and the Arch are well worth a visit. The Raptor Park and the sand dunes are great. We ate at the Queenscliff Hotel each evening. Good meals at reasonable prices.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Penneshaw has a beautiful coastal country vibe.
Penneshaw has a beautiful coastal country vibe. Everyone is polite and wonderful to talk too.the beaches are gorgeous and walking around is so much fun, discovering all there is to know about this wonderful magical place. Some other destinations are a little drive but the scenery is amazing, and there is so much to see and do. We visited Kingscote, Seal Bay, the wildlife sanctuary, American river and many more places. Our favourite place to eat was the Penneahaw local pub. Their meals were awesome and the staff were very accommodating.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
It's a lovely beach! Post card quality all the way.
It's a lovely beach! Post card quality all the way. Only shame is people are allowed to drive on it, risking the precious wildlife and environment. No shops in Emu bay, but there is a small beachside cafe open select days/ times in summer. About 15mins drive from Kingscote.Guest review byJayneAustralia - 10.0
I stayed for 4 days and I could have stayed forever!
I stayed for 4 days and I could have stayed forever! The most beautiful, pristine place I have ever been to! The wildlife, bird life and scenery was so beautiful! The only noise I heard were all the birds singing and the gentle waves….stunningGuest review byCarolineAustralia - 10.0
All the local sites are amazing.
All the local sites are amazing. My favourite was Cape de Couedic and Admirals Arch. The development and natural scenery and spectacular, seascape views are outstanding and most of it is accessible for wheelchairs with quality board walking. I Highly recommend a visit to Kangaroo Island. An amazing and challenging level 3 hike to Snake Lagoon is well worth the effort to the Beach. Lovely Cafe for lunch at Stokes Bay and nice little walk to the ⛱️ beach. Excellent asphalt roads make easy access to most sites. 👏Guest review byBarbaraAustralia - 8.0

Close to the sea. 10 minute drive to Penneshaw to see Fairy Penguins. Half hour drive to Bee Hive tour & more beachside in this township. Think it was Northcote. There was a supermarket & two fish & chip places - one where you could get petrol. Nice little town.Guest review byDianneAustralia - 10.0
What a unique entry to a beach as you walk through the rocks...
What a unique entry to a beach as you walk through the rocks the glimpses of the upcoming beach urges you forward to explore. The rocks open up to an amazing small beach with a rockpool safe for swimming. We were the first people on the beach that day so it was amazing to only see our footprints in the sand. After a great time at the beach head over to Stokes Bay Cafe opened from 11 -5 daily meals were fantastic and reasonably priced. You are a short drive to Pandana for all your grocery needs as Stokes Bay doesn't have a shop for general items. Driving around we were centrally located half way on the island to go and see Kangaroo Island spirits, lavender farm, eucalyptus farm, wool shed, admirals arch and remarkable rocks just make sure you get a entry ticket to Flinders chase the visitor centre Cafe didn't open until 9.30 and didn't accept cash at the Cafe. Short drive to Kingscote to go for lunch or to do some shopping. Had a great time had a small car not a 4wd but still went to all the places the roads were safe and signs easy to follow. Driving at dawn or dusk not advised due to wildlife.Guest review bySharonAustralia - 6.0

We thoroughly enjoyed the wild life around us , feeding the kangaroos nightly .. very peaceful and relaxing .. however we feel there should’ve been tea/coffee sugar sachets and long life milk on arrival as there aren’t any shops close by .. so after long trip over really looking forward to a coffee .. also washing up liquid was only enough for 1 day .. toilet paper only 2 rolls ( not enough for our 7 day stay ) Went to cook on the bbq , no tongs or scraper . However we did ring owner and he was more then happy to bring us tongs ( but that’s not the point ) all these things are basics in a budget accommodation . stayed in plenty others .. and the bed was very hard but that is too be expected in most cases . Hope these issues get resolved as the location is great .Guest review bycaroleAustralia - 8.0

We stayed 3 nights, after staying our first night in Kingscote after a late ferry trip from the mainland. . The cabin is situated adjacent to the farmhouse driveway, the cabin's gate was closed, so when we arrived we drove to the farmhouse but nobody welcomed us so I had to call the owner for instructions. The cabin appears to be almost new so the facilities are excellent. We dined once at the Parndarna Hotel and had a good pub meal. Parndarna is centrally located with bitumen roads to most tourist destinations, and we found that worked well for us.Guest review bySallyAustralia - 10.0

Kangaroo Island is the perfect island to see, and Kingscot is the largest town on the island, with all the facilities. Although it closes early on weekends, it doesn't spoil the experience of this fascinating island safari and almost perfect beach walking experienceGuest review byStevenAustralia
