Antwerp is a lovely city to walk around, which lots of interesting architecture, a wide range of restaurants, and many attractions. From our hotel we walked into the center (Grote Markt, cathedral, hidden street), to the botanical garden, the Sunday market at Theaterplein, the Jewish quarter, Chinatown, the main shopping streets, the Steen and river area.Guest review byDeborahNetherlands - 10.0

Lier is a lovely town, the streets are clean and quiet.
Lier is a lovely town, the streets are clean and quiet. There is a lot of history here and the canals and waterways are very beautidul. There is something for everyone, the town square is surrounded by good restaurants, the buildings are interesting and full of history. If you like walking or cycling there are plenty of well marked trails and an abundance of wildlife in the rivers and canals. You can take a boat trip in the old flat bottomed eel boatsand the guides are very knowledgable and interesting. There are good transport links witht he station being on the edge of town, just a 15 minute walk into the centre. The town Hall is a beautiful building. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We will be coming back.Guest review byRos - 6.0

Turnhout is pleasant enough, but not the most interesting place in Belgium. The town centre is walkable but there isn’t a lot to see. There are a lot of vacant shops and the commercial centre looks like it’s not doing too well. The train service to Antwerp and Brussels is OK. The highlights are the playing card museum, the main square, the castle and the churches. To be honest, I don’t know why anyone would visit Turnhout unless you had something specific to do there, as I had. Last year I was in Leuven, which is well worth a visit.Guest review byJohnIreland - 10.0
Geel has a rich and varied history.
Geel has a rich and varied history. There was fierce World War Two fighting here a prelude to the massive Airborne operation, the subject of the film "A Bridge too Far". On the other hand the town pioneered the care of the mentally ill in the community as opposed to institutions about 150 years ago. Also has great restaurents around the town square.Guest review byanthonyCanada - 6.0
Stayed for a nearby football tournament.
Stayed for a nearby football tournament. Friendly, immaculate town with a really nice hotel in which we stayed. A couple of good coffee houses and a good supermarket. I'm sure there's more to it, but we were there for the football.Guest review bymichaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Brasschaat has great dog walking places which is convenient since we always travel with our dog, it has a classy residential hub, calm and peaceful, and it is still near to the city of Antwerp, making it easy to visit the old city or have business events.Guest review byYvetteSwitzerland - 10.0
Every time I go to B&B Droomzoet it is way to short.
Every time I go to B&B Droomzoet it is way to short. I am either passing through or stopping over from one of my many adventures through Europe, it is always a pleasure to see Isle & Peter. Seems like I have know them for years but I have only visited them on two occasions one just before Christmas last year and one a couple of days ago. This time I brought my friend with me to enjoy the experience and it was a sheer joy to come back and share it with him, as always Isle & Peter were the perfect hosts, didn't put a foot wrong and were happy to chat whenever they had time. The sheer beauty of the surrounding is heavenly if you want some peace and quiet from the busy lifestyle if only for a short break. Can't wait for my next visit to see Isle & Peter again.Guest review byNicholasUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The old town in Antwerp is quite beautiful.
The old town in Antwerp is quite beautiful. We only had one day and were able to see most things on our list (Red Star Museum was closed Monday). Two days would probably be enough and a more relaxed pace.Guest review byWade CowdenUnited States - 10.0

Mechelen is a visually appealing small city with a fascinating history. I have visited two times previously and as it is within an easy train trip of the Brussels airport it is my preferred place to stay before taking a flight from Belgium. It has lots of attractions (climbing the tower in the cathedral is taxing), is easy to walk around and has lots of restaurants. On each of my visits I seem to have been fortunate to coincide with a musical event -perhaps they have a lot or maybe I was just lucky. For beer and whiskey drinkers the local product from Carolus is well worth seeking out.Guest review byAndrewAustralia
