Didn't have the time to explore the restaurants, art museum etc. which were within easy walking distance since was travelling throughout PEI for a few days, seeing the sights especially the light houses and country side. Jane's Dumpling house was great as was the Triangle Pub just up the street from the Shipwright Inn. Would like to return and spend more time in Charlottetown. Cavendish seems to be a small farming community, and everyone was very nice and friendly. We were there in the off season, mid-June, so most places closed early; however, the restaurant next door to the motel was open until 11:00 pm, with all-day breakfast from 8:00 to 8:00. Cavendish is small, so it easy getting around, you do need to drive, or if you brought your bike along it would be perfect, especially if you want to visit the beach, and the lighthouse along the coastal areas. If you have small kids, there are a few amusement rides; however, they only open in the summer. Make sure you bring a light jacket, as with the wind gusts, the wind chill effect makes it significantly colder, especially when you are in the coastal areas. You have to visit Montgomery Park, which has two small trails, one leading to the original site of Lucy Maud Montgomery's family farm house. The second trail leads through the Haunted Woods, ending up at the Anne of Green Gables home, museum, and visitors centre.Guest review byMeik - 8.0

I really enjoyed kitchen we could make breakfast and have coffee out on the deck overlooking the pond very relaxing. We also appreciated the laundry. We didn’t use pool but it looked inviting! Overall we enjoyed our cottage and it felt like home after our sightseeing daysGuest review byELLEN - 10.0

Our first time visiting here. We loved every aspect. The coffee,/bookstore. Pedro's restuarant excellent. Easy to walk around with great Walking path. Beach though rocky the red cliffs were amazing. We traveled much of the island, but we liked North Rustico the best. People were incredibly friendly.Guest review bymichaelUnited States - 8.0

Lovely area just outside Charlottetown. Close to local amenities. Room was large and clean. Great choice for families as there’s a kitchen and private living room/lounge area to hang out in. Easy to find, quiet area.Guest review byPinsonneaultCanada - 10.0

Great arrangement of local small business; all attractive & easily to find. We liked that they were spread out so as to get a view of the area. The rolling hills are breathtaking. And that is from an Islander who hasn't traveled that area enough. Will no.Guest review byLindaCanada - 8.0
The grid layout made navigation fairly easy.
The grid layout made navigation fairly easy. Free parking after 4 PM was welcome. We were always able to find a parking space, though the 2nd and 3rd weeks of June aren't their busiest season. Lots of good restaurants, and a huge waterfront park.Guest review byKennethUnited States - 8.0
That we arrived between seasons was a plus for our group.
That we arrived between seasons was a plus for our group. We were able to enjoy the walks and there was quiet. I imagine that for families with older children there may be a desire for the fun-parks and rides which were closing down as the area headed into the school season. The nature walks were full of wonder. We were centrally located and were able to reach the highlights with a minimum of driving. Fans of Anne will be happy to spend a long day at the various sites...Guest review byHanaIsrael
