Powell River is a pleasant surprise once you get there by ferry. It has charm and a heritage feel to the lovely old neighbourhoods. There is history worth noting. The people were very friendly, it was easy to find dining. I wouldn't have guessed 'Snickers' to be a Greek restaurant but we gave it a try. The portions were huge! And the ferry ride over to Vancouver Island was right in the middle of town and easy to access.Guest review byDelCanada - Review score

I am a local resident, Gibson's and the Sunshine Coast have limited restaurant and take out hours, so be prepared to eat early or bring your own food, especially breakfast, this is quite inconvenient for construction workers or outdoor enthusiasts wishing to make an early start Best breakfast is Strait Coffee in Wilson Creek( opens 7am) Tim Hortons is nearby the hotel local transit is quite good but very limited on weekendsGuest review byAnonymous - Review score

It rained after we arrived, so we didn't explore too much. The following day we went of a hike near Madeira Park called Francis Point. It was absolutely beautiful and picturesque. It is a quiet place and perfect for a get away with a partner or family.Guest review byWayneCanada - Review score

Friendly owners who are keen on making your stay welcoming. The room was clean and ready when we arrived. The resort itself is quiet (we were there in the middle of winter) but gorgeous with all the snow!Guest review byKathy TurnerCanada - Review score

Egmont itself is just a small settlement, with a pub and convenience store and dock. It is the take off point for the forest rail to the Skookumchuck tidal passage , a 4 kms hike on the actual trail throughthe forest , the trek is well rewarded with a stunning view of the narrows, but it is twisty and slightly rocky and care should be taken to avoid twisted ankles. There are numeous docking and excursion facilities, the road to Egmont , although twisty is well marked and paved, after you take the turn from Highway 101Guest review byDavid JohnCanada - Review score

Scenic area to visit with lots of great hiking and lovely towns. Our hosts had helpful information on what to do and see in the area. The Pender Harbour Blues festival at the beginning of June is fun. Could have spent more time exploring. My only comment is that some of the hiking trails could use better markings.Guest review byBettyCanada - Review score

The area is beautiful, especially when looking west at the ocean. People were very friendly everywhere we went. There are some great restaurants. However, electric vehicle charging could have been better.Guest review byEricCanada - Review score

Stayed here with friends to run a trail race that was only 6 mins away by car so location was perfect for us. Unit was spacious, beds were comfortable, bathroom large and shower was perfect. The owner, Lisette was so pleasant and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed...even apples in the fridge which were delicious and freshly ground coffee from Colombia. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the porch and beautiful view. Definitely would love to return here if we come back to Sechelt.Guest review bySandra - Review score
