FAQs about hotels on Anglesey
A Haven of Wildlife
The small, yet geologically and ecologically important, island of Anglesey is off the north-western coast of Wales. Home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge while he is on RAF duty, the island is known for its rugged coastline, most of which is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Its largest town is Holyhead, set on smaller Holy Island and from where ferries to Ireland depart. Also on this island, Trearddur Bay has a Blue-Flag beach and one of the few Anglesey hotels with swimming pools. Another beautiful beach is found at Cemaes Bay on the main island’s northern coast.
Moelfre, further along the coast, is a sleepy fishing village, while Beaumaris in the east has a 13th-century castle partially surrounded by a moat and looking towards Snowdonia National Park on the Welsh mainland.
To the south-west the elegant Menai Bridge spans one of the narrowest stretches of the Menai Strait, separating Gwynedd from Anglesey. Another bridge makes the crossing in neighbouring Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch – the village with Europe’s longest name, though it’s usually abbreviated to Llanfairpwllgwyngyll which is still quite a mouthful.
Llangefni is in the centre of the island and in its district is Capel Coch, home to the only Anglesey spa hotel, available on Booking.com.

The resort with an intriguing name. Is it Welsh or French?
The resort with an intriguing name. Is it Welsh or French? A good selection of shops cafe's and restaurants with many gift and fashion shops to whet the appetite. The beach is close, with a really large car park and pier close at hand.Guest review byALANUnited Kingdom - 6.0
There isn't a huge amount to do in Holyhead itself.
There isn't a huge amount to do in Holyhead itself. A few nice walks around the coast. I don't have a car so next time I would stay closer inland in Anglesey to take advantage of more activities and places to see. I ended up taking a train to Bangor for a day. Rubens in the town centre is a very nice place for a coffee.Guest review byMatthewUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We visited Plas Newydd (NT), Newborough Forest, Rhos Neigra, South Stacks (RSPB) and Beaumaris. We ate out in Menai Bridge (Dylan's) and a couple of cafe's at lunchtimes, (Rhos Neigra and Beaumaris) Menai Bridge was reasonably easy for parking and there were pleasant walks along the Straits.Guest review byLynneUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The food was excellent.
The food was excellent. The spa was good and the gym and weight room were really good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The entrance drive is long and narrow with a few potholes, making driving it at night a difficult prospect.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Treaddur is a very beautiful part of Anglesey.
Treaddur is a very beautiful part of Anglesey. There are so many little coves to visit as well as the main beach, plenty of places to eat out, and a well stocked Spar shop close at hand. There is plenty of parking, with two good sized car parks at either end of the main beach. It is also well placed to visit the rest of the island, as the A55 is easily accessible.Guest review byLisaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The room and food was very good. Lovely outdoor area.
The room and food was very good. Lovely outdoor area. Evening meal was tasty and service excellent. Breakfast was good but not a lot of choice. No pastries or fruit. Tea was a teabag in a cup and thermos of hot water. Would have liked a teapot on the table. Friendly staff and nice and clean.Guest review byMargaretUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Located by the Menai Straits there are nice walks and views. It is well placed for exploring the west of Anglesey with attractions such as NT Plas Newydd, Sea Zoo, Halen Mon sea salt, Pilli Palas and Newborough Warren and the East side with Menai and Beaumaris. Not to be missed is the James Pringle store (also known as Edinburgh Woollen Mill) a veritable Aladdin's Cave of goodies with the best Bara Brith I've ever had, also with a cafe and the Llanfair PG railway station.Guest review byBrendaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Benllech is a lovely safe place with a good selection of places to eat, to suit all tastes. A good number of shops. There is a variety of places for walking and opportunities to see wildlife in particular bird species. It has a few beach areas and also places to sail boats. Golf is popular too. Nearby, you can visit other small towns with interesting historical places such as castles and museums. Mount Snowdon isn’t too far away for those that like to climb or just view the magnificent mountains.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Very popular spot for windsurfers, kite surfers, model plane flying, sandcastle building and all other beach activities. Many locals appear to have tractors and fishing boats. Pubs, cafes and hotels in town lively and keen to provide good service. Village store well stocked, post office including a cash machine and off licence sales.Guest review byAileenUnited Kingdom
