FAQs about hotels on Corfu
Homer’s "beautiful and rich land
The 2nd largest Greek island, Corfu is a fantastic beach holiday destination whose diversity caters to all tastes, from great nightlife in party capital Kavos to the quiet, family-orientated beach of Arillas.
The capital Corfu Town (or Kerkyra) has interesting streets and a citadel to explore. Booking.com offers several Corfu hotels near the airport both here and in neighbouring Perama, which overlooks the wonderful isle of Pontikonissi. Gouvia to the north offers fabulous views across the Ionian Sea to mainland Greece. The calm waters at Dassia lap the shingle beach, while livelier Kassiopi has a cute harbour.
Acharavi on the north coast is also good for nightlife, while next door Roda is more relaxed and has a lovely, sandy beach. Aghios Ioannis to the west is home to Aqualand waterpark, and just along the coast is Sidari whose Canal d’Amour beach is spectacularly sheltered by rocky headland. Also beautiful is the curved bay lined with rugged cliffs at Paleokastritsa.
In the south, Messonghi’s shallow waters full of little fish are good for children, and next door Moraitika has a long beach and better nightlife. North, the fishing village Benitses has a good selection of Corfu hotels on the beach, and its peaceful harbour is still the place to see the daily catch being brought to land.

We loved Corfu Town, although it was a little bit hillier than expected. We typically holiday with my parents, and had they been able to come on this occasion I would have been concerned about how my Mum would have coped with some of the steps and cobbles. That said, once reasonably familiar with getting in/out of the town there are alternative routes. Just be mindful of your footing. The town is a rabbit warren of streets, but getting lost and finding your way around was part of the fun in familiarising yourself with your surroundings, and means you pass lots of lovely shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Swimming in the bay below the Old Fort became a daily treat. Restaurants we would recommend are: Achilleas Traditional Taverna, Aegli (both in Corfu town), Vesuvio (Italian in Gilford) Bars we would recommend: Alle Koukou (Mitropoleos Square), Chavez and Dell'Acque (both in Corfu Town), Cale Larga (Gilford) We would not recommend the day cruise to Paxos, which is a shame because Paxos is beautiful and the swim stop off was magical, but the 7 hour round trip by boat is way too long and just not worth it.Guest review byShirleyUnited Kingdom - Review score
A Spiritual Place where you can hear the Earth breathe.
A Spiritual Place where you can hear the Earth breathe. Deeply humbled by its beauty and heartfelt welcome, turquoise waters and the melodic sound of the language of Greece. Paradise. Olive groves, rich blue skies, clean air, apart from very occasional chemtrails compared to the UK. Gratitude.Guest review byAnonymous - Review score
It is an amazing place to explore!
It is an amazing place to explore! The "party" mood feels at the entrance of the area, so young people and so many pubs and restaurants. Late hours were quiet; the pubs followed the law for noise very well. I would say the closest beaches are not as good as the popular ones, like "Ag. Georgious." The closest good beaches I would recommend are: "Kanoula Beach", "Mikro Nisi Beach" and "Paralia Gardenos".Guest review byDimitarBulgaria - Review score

At first I was happy with location - many restaurants and beach very close. But once I visited other areas, I would go somewhere else. Sidari was full of drunk british people, all restaurant were just average. Beaches were dirty (full of rubbish) and crowded.Guest review byIveta - Review score
Good choice of restaurants and supermarkets.
Good choice of restaurants and supermarkets. People were friendly in both. I tried a couple of Greek ones which were good. As a solo traveler I was welcomed. It's a small place and easy to walk from one end to the other in a few minutes. I felt it needed some money spent eg on some very rocky pavements. It's neighbour Moraitika is very different and has been improved over the years to a much higher standard.Guest review byKarenFrance - Review score
LoveIy town. I recommend Sebastian's Family Hotel & Taverna.
LoveIy town. I recommend Sebastian's Family Hotel & Taverna. The food was very tasty and the staff beyond expectations. Shops are close and shopkeepers are so friendly. The beach is clean, mostly sandy and water is crystal clear. There is a boat rental with helpful and nice staff. Boat trip to the small rocky island NW from AG was amazing. You can walk to the top of the island and there is a little Holy Monastery of the Theotokos of Justice, a swing and tables. Perfect place to have a picnic. The town is clean and cozy. We met a turtle, a marten and a flying fish while staying there. Not to mention different birds and many cats and lizards.Guest review byKairi - Review score

Gouvia is a lovely area, I went with a group of girls in our mid twenties. It was very relaxing and some lovely restaurants (I would really recommend the seafood linguine at 9 muses). Gouvia has some lovely beaches within a couple of minutes of our hotel. It is typically people in their mid 50s but great for a more relaxing, lounge by the pool kind of holiday. We got the bus into the old town or Ipsos to go for drinks/club vibes, which were super easy to navigate and way cheaper than a taxi. I would definitely recommend Gouvia as a location but if you’re looking for more of a night life then I would look elsewhere on the island.Guest review byZoeUnited Kingdom - Review score

The two 5-star, beachfront hotesl are sufficiently set back to give an airy, tree-filled feel - not 'built up' - to the village. There are many great quality and great value restaurants and bars. My impression is that you could have curate a holiday to suit you - party it up, or have a very peaceful relaxed time. It is not imposed on you by the surroundings.Guest review byLauraUnited Kingdom - Review score

It is very easy to get around Corfu, We stayed in Ypsos, and rented scooters to go around the Island to different beaches. There's a bus that goes to Corfu town every hour. Loads of authentic Greek restaurants. High light was the boat trip to Paxos, Anti-Paxos and the blue caves. We loved Agios Georgios, and Roda, the trip through the mountains was amazing, the views are indescribable, a must see. Weather in June is still very hot, nut not July/August hot, and not as busy.Guest review byJaniceSouth Africa - Review score

There’s plenty to do and there are good supermarkets and an excellent fresh fish shop. It’s on the coast and a sundowner drink at one of the tavernas is a must. The restaurants are very good, but the local grill bar is particularly good value for money. We also went to Therikas taverna which was local to us that was very good also. The bar Poets Corner on the old town road is also definitely worth a visit.Guest review byChristopherUnited Kingdom
