Mandraki was a hidden gem of a place, only a 20-minute walk along the coast from Hydra Town, but away from all the hustle and bustle and with its own little beach and taverna - everything you could possibly need for a deeply relaxing holiday.Guest review byTanyaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Hydra is quite a magical place.
Hydra is quite a magical place. As there are no cars, the sounds of bells, birds and animals dominate the soundscape. Walking around the town or further afield afford wonderful views at each turn. Plenty of cafes at the front and in side streets offer a choice of delicious meals. Small supermarkets provide anything required for home catering. Mules are used to transport luggage and deliver groceries. A place to relax and de-stress if you take the time. Be prepared for lots of walking and scaling steep stairs.Guest review byBeverleyAustralia - 10.0

Hydra is an island for total relaxation.
Hydra is an island for total relaxation. Even though there’s not a lot ‘to do’ apart from hike the hills, lie on the beaches (which are all shingle - no sand- and visit a couple of small museums) - don’t pass this island by. It’s charming, the people are genuinely friendly snd they won’t rip you off. Go there to recharge from a busy life and lap up the sunshine, the vistas and the great food found in multiple restaurants which are all no more than 15 mins walk from wherever you stay. Go people watching from a comfy lunge chair in the ports many cafes, swim in the clear turquoise sea and think of nothing more than what you’ll eat that night. Hydra isn’t the cheapest Greek island to stay on but the tranquilly, the sunshine and the people will give you a priceless experience . Oooh and the cats too !Guest review byKateUnited Kingdom
