This was my second time staying there and it was even better than I remembered - the staff is wonderful, the hotel itself is small but new, the pool area is perfect and the general location is great. Will visit again!

Poesia is beautiful. We spent the final night of our stay here before flying home and wish we'd discovered it sooner. Ana was on hand for anything we needed and more than happy to facilitate a later check out to suit our schedule. The suite was very spacious and well equipped and the king bed was super comfortable. The bathroom in particular was amazing, the flood shower is one of the best I've ever used. The location may be a little rural but the restaurant opposite the hotel is superb and there's a well equipped mini market just 10 mins walk down the road. For all your stay gets you, especially keenly priced as it is in the early season, you'll struggle to find better value than Poesia.

    Lots of restaurants and coffee shops. Not really a place for teenagers or young people. Not evening entertainment. Taxis will scam you. Buses really cheap. Good coffee. Food in general expensive but you have ample choice of corfu dishes to try. I was very happy not to see multinational firms in corfu town, very authentic. Good beaches only accesible by car. Dissapointed when I visited paxos. No sandy beaches there. You have to pay £10 to see old fortress.

    4 days are enough to see everything the island has to offer.

    4 days are enough to see everything the island has to offer. 5 days can be also nice but not more. Definitely go for the boat trips to the shipwreck and the local blue caves, also the turtle island Marathonisis and the Keri caves. Highlights of the trip. Don't eat in Laganas, search for grill restaurants on the inside of the island... you won't regret. Don't look for the beautiful restaurants... go for the normal or even uglier ones, they will have the best food and also cheap.

    The western beaches are awesome!

    The western beaches are awesome! We visited Egremni, Kathisma, and Avali. Parasailing from the mountaintop down to Kathisma beach is highly recommended. Libre Beach Bar on Kathisma is highly recommended. Food and service was excellent. Beach beds/umbrellas were Euro20 for the set and included water and ice and If you arrive early in the day you can get parking included as well. We stayed in Lefkada town and having walking access to so many tavernas along the water and the downtown pedestrian zone was nice but parking was also a problem. We were surprised at the traffic.

    Not much to do in the area.

    Not much to do in the area. Buses a little infrequent and sometimes crowded. About an hour into Corfu town. Green bus terminus about 1 mile from town centre which in the heat and humidity seems miles! There is an excellent restaurant about 300 mtrs down from the hotel entrance set in a hollow. Otherwise the few remaining are very mediocre.

    It is an amazing place to explore!

    It is an amazing place to explore! The "party" mood feels at the entrance of the area, so young people and so many pubs and restaurants. Late hours were quiet; the pubs followed the law for noise very well. I would say the closest beaches are not as good as the popular ones, like "Ag. Georgious." The closest good beaches I would recommend are: "Kanoula Beach", "Mikro Nisi Beach" and "Paralia Gardenos".

    Busy city with so many options for eating/ drinking We based our stay for 7 days at the L suites and appartments This was ideal to explore the island which we did over 6 days The city itself is so busy, so staying just outside was a very clever / lucky decision

    What really stood out was the number of great family-run restaurants and bars. The food was delicious, and the welcoming atmosphere made dining out a real pleasure. There’s a genuine local feel to the town, and everyone was so friendly.

    At first I was happy with location - many restaurants and beach very close. But once I visited other areas, I would go somewhere else. Sidari was full of drunk british people, all restaurant were just average. Beaches were dirty (full of rubbish) and crowded.

    Benitses is lovely! Relatively quiet and not rowdy.

    Benitses is lovely! Relatively quiet and not rowdy. There is a fabulous GYROS takeaway called Gryoleague near to the town square and they serve a small menu of SUPERB gyros, souvlaki, hot dogs, burgers and sandwiches. They are hearty portions and only 4 euros for gyros, 2 euros for souvlaki. We ate there a lot because it was so cheap and relatively healthy with all the salad they provide. We saved so much eating there. TBH we had two expensive meals in the restaurants and were not impressed with the quality or the content so preferred to eat at Gyroleague, take it back to our studio and make our own greek salads as the supermarket's have such fresh fruit and veg it's impressive. Two main supermarkets provide all you need. Not too many 'tat' shops. Just a lovely place to browse. The beaches in Benitses are rocky/pebbly/shale so you'll need beach shoes but it's beautiful all the same and and the water is crystal clear. The harbour is beautiful and the mountain views are stunning. No 6 bus to Corfu town is easy to take but they do get quite crowded so watch out for that. Loved our stay in Benitses and would definitely return.
