A cosy family run hotel overlooking the beach and the port - we had a corner room with a balcony offering both views. A very good bed and mattress which we enjoyed after a whole day travelling and gave us a good night’s sleep! Breakfast was healthy and good with enough choice. The staff were friendly even at the end of the season - we were the last guests to leave and the hotel was closing down for the winter!Guest review byLilianaNetherlands - 8.0

It lacks character and a town centre with no shops and only one restaurant ,though there is plenty to do with transport with plenty of beaches in the area, as well as hikes- one leading to an ancient settlement behind a good beach.Guest review byScrimgeourUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Early september was great to stay a week!
Early september was great to stay a week! It wasn't busy since it was off-season and the 2, Otzias Kouzina and Taverna of Anna, are excellent places to eat and should be easily walkable from any of the places to stay in the area. Near the center and right side of the beach looking out to sea there is more sand and less stone so is better to swim at.Guest review byJimNetherlands - 8.0

Spathi is a great place if you need to escape and relax but on the other hand no options for shopping or nightlife so be prepared. Access is very challenging so be sure to be a good driver. Don't try at night.Guest review byaivalisGreece - 10.0

You have to have a car to travel there because there are dirty roads with no public transport. Xyla beach is the most beautiful beach in the island, but you have to have your own umbrella or you have to pay 20-25 Eur per day if you want to have sunbeds and umbrella. There are not so many people like in other beaches of the island, so it is quite calm there during the day.Guest review byAnonymousLithuania - 10.0

Very quiet and not a lot to do but very peaceful and restful. Lots of walking trails but not easy to access. Local buses very infrequent. Lovely place for a quiet rest. Local people very nice and friendly.Guest review byLynneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This is a destination for families and established individuals. The beach is among the best-organized and yet original-looking destinations I have visited. It is south-facing, which is a good thing for the Aegean sea, calm waters. Lots of sail ships approach and moore in this gulf. I mostly value that I did not have to drive from my accommodation (the small villa) to the beach. Just 30 meters walk. For those who want watersport activities, there is the neighboring beach named Koundouraki. I met Fotis, the manager (former Olympic sports team coach, I understand) who runs the facility there. I wish I had time for that!Guest review byGeorgeUnited States - 8.0

We were staying a few twisty miles from the main town which is a very interesting place on a steep hill and with almost no traffic - the streets and alley ways are just too narrow. Although we were there at the end of the season there were still a few good restaurants openGuest review byScrimgeourUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful beach with many options to seat. on the left side the beach has some waves and on the opposite the water is extremely calm. you can rent a lounge chair with umbrella or just lay on your towel.Guest review byNIKOLAOSFrance
