FAQs about hotels on Kos
A Cultural Crossroad
Birthplace of the father of medicine, Hippocrates, Kos is the 3rd largest island of the Dodecanese. Located in the south Aegean region, this green island has a temperate climate, palm tree-lined avenues, and crystalline blue waters, all accessible by bike.
Featuring a great selection of 5-star hotels and all inclusive resorts, Kos is a tourist and cultural gem with long hours of sunshine and intense nightlife. Kardamena is a popular resort for young holidaymakers, offering a large number of bars and nightclubs.
Founded in 366 BC, Kos Town is home of the imposing medieval Castle of the Knights of Saint John. The traditional village of Afsendiou is a stunning paradise with narrow alleys and spring waters. Another must-see is the picturesque village of Antimachia, with the Venetian castle and the original windmills.
Kefalos village is home of one of the most magnificent Kos beaches, as well as the iconic small island of Kastri. If you are travelling with kids, do not miss Tigaki, a long sandy beach with shallow waters and sun loungers. Savour fresh fish in Mastichari, while enjoying the majestic view of the port.

Lively and friendly place. Good food at reasonable prices.
Lively and friendly place. Good food at reasonable prices. Can be noisy late at night depending on location. We went to several good restaurants but the Sea waves restaurant is to be avoided at all costs. The food was awful and sub standard staff.Guest review byYvesTurkey - 10.0

Kardemeana is just a short taxi ride from the airport ( 20 euros and 15 mins) the village its self has plenty to offer in the way of bars and restaurants, if you want loud thumping music till the wee small hours this is NOT the place for you, however if you want chilled out and relaxed with good ( Greek)food , you can get English food , then yes , its a nice place to visitGuest review byGordonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Mastichari is lovely!
Mastichari is lovely! It is a chilled Greek village beside a beach with a small terminal for ferries to / from Kalymnos, and a bus stop that will get you to Kos town or the airport. There is a nice variety of tavernas for traditional Greek food, and a handful of bars. Prices in Mastichari are much cheaper than in Kos town! There are a selection of shops that sell a mixture of groceries, booze, and souvenirs. If you need a big supermarket, head up the hill out of the village and you will come to Constantinos, which has everything you need. There's also plenty of places to hire cars etc. The beach is right beside the village. It is very chilled. There are no noisy bars churning out loud music, or noisy motorised watersports. There are some sunbeds, but the beach is not dominated by them. Most of the holiday makers we saw were, like us, middle aged or older (this is not a criticism!). If you are younger and / or want a lively nightlife, this village may not be for you. Everything is fairly flat (unless you go up that big hill above the village), but you will need to tackle a step or two to get into shops and tavernas. The smaller hotels here will have stairs, not lifts, so do your research if accessibility is an issue for you.Guest review byPetaUnited Kingdom - 2.0
Kefalos is very run down. Lots of derelict buildings.
Kefalos is very run down. Lots of derelict buildings. Almost empty in October even though it was still good weather. Most restaurants closed - the few that were open were good enough - stick with the fish - octopus quite tough and chicken kebabs awfulGuest review byGo.mallUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Tigaki in Kos is a fantastic destination, with beautiful beaches, charming local restaurants, and a relaxed vibe that’s perfect for a getaway. But what truly made our stay exceptional was Xenos Villas. These villas stand out in the area—brand new, stylish, and designed with so much attention to detail.Guest review byDinos GrigoratosUnited Kingdom - 8.0
It's a very small town, there isn't much to see or do.
It's a very small town, there isn't much to see or do. You can pretty much walk in two directions. But Tigaki is close, there's a bit more variety of restaurants and bars and cafes. The beach in Marmari is perfect though! And it's very safe and quiet. I would recommend renting a car anyway, because there's not much else to do and you will be more flexible that way. The sunsets in Marmari are very beautiful!Guest review byV013Austria - 10.0
It was an amazing stay at Agios Fokas.
It was an amazing stay at Agios Fokas. The Hotel has great facilities and allocated in the nice quiet part of Agios Fokas, not far from thermal water. The atmosphere at the hotel was really nice. The staff were providing an amazing support. Georgios, Annam Joanna, Eleni, Paris, Eva and Ronaldo took care of everything what was needed.Guest review byKsanka - 8.0

We stayed at Mastichari and it proved to be a great choice for the second week of August because there was always some breeze comparing to other places were the heat was unbearable. The beach is long and sandy but has also a lot of seaweed. It’s a small place, nothing exceptional but nice connection to other islands and for touring around Kos. Good food and friendly locals 👍🏻Guest review byElenaItaly - 8.0

Good beach- especially for children as shallow, sandy and calm. Too many sunbeds from huge hotel complex but some beach available. Lovely views out to see and to islands. Some great places to eat. Easy to get a bus to Kos town, to the airport and a couple of other places.Guest review byG McTagueUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Small island with a lot to see and experience.
Small island with a lot to see and experience. Public transport was easy to use and there were also lot of affordable excursions to take on the island and in the neighbouring islands. I visited early in the summer and it was very verdant and beautiful. Locals were friendly and the island was fairly clean. Very safe for a solo traveller!Guest review byKatariinaFinland
