We enjoyed a week long holiday in Naxos village hotel with extended family. The photo's of the rooms, apartments and pool area are actually true to life and totally exceeded our expectations. The interior design of rooms and apartments are beautiful. The pool are is gorgeous. It gives 5 star hotel vibes. We enjoyed breakfasts and brunches in the pantry restaurant and the short walk into the old town and seafront for dinner and drinks each evening. A 2 minute walk to the bus stop taking you to local beaches. The reception and cleaning staff were very kind, welcoming and helpful. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk to the ferry port. We loved our trip to Naxos and Naxos village hotel is our favourite hotel in all the Greek islands we've visited. Book it, you won't regret it!

Irina (I hope I got her name right) was awesome throughout our stay, she was very helpful, we felt like we were hosted by family. She was very hospitable. The location is perfect! 8 minute walk from port, close to the center of town, restaurants and supermarket around the hotel. The beach is a short walk away. Very clean property, Irina makes sure that guests are comfortable. Highly recommended!

Naxos Highlights

  • Naxos Castle

This fine example of Venetian architecture was the town’s acropolis, built during the Middle Ages. Locals still live in the mansions surrounding it.
  • Portara

This imposing temple entrance has watched over Naxos Harbour for 2 millennia. The 6th-century monument has become an icon of the island.
  • Agios Georgios Beach

The seemingly endless Agios Georgios Beach is a popular spot for both sun worshippers and windsurfers.
  • Agios Prokopios Beach

Agios Prokopios doesn’t just have crystal-clear waters and golden sands but is also home to unusual, red-coloured lakes.
  • Surfing on Mikri Vigla Beach

This kite and wind surfing hotspot is famed for its golden sands, wild landscape and Cycladic architecture.
  • The village of Apiranthos

Set at a 650-metre altitude, this village is on the slopes of Mount Fanari. Its architecture and layout have remained almost untouched since Venetian times.
  • Filoti Village

One of the island’s most picturesque villages, Filoti is surrounded by valleys and features charming Cycladic architecture.
  • Temple of Demeter

Named after the goddess of agriculture, this striking temple dates from the 6th century BC. Archaeologists resurrected the temple from ruins found in the 1970s.
  • Tower of Agia

This 17th-century tower is a former look-out post which sits on the north coast. It offers a striking Venetian design, which is replicated throughout the island.

Naxos chora is a quaint town to walk around.

Naxos chora is a quaint town to walk around. You can get lost though in the warren of alleyways. At night there are a few dark corners so take a torch. There are many tavernas along the seafront and the place is buzzing. The sunset from Apollo's island is a must.

Agio Prokopios Beach is simply stunning!

Agio Prokopios Beach is simply stunning! With its soft, golden sands and crystal-clear waters, it's the perfect spot for a day of relaxation. The beach is well-maintained, and there’s plenty of space to find your own little slice of paradise. The surrounding cafes and tavernas offer delicious local cuisine, making it easy to grab a bite without straying far from the sun. The atmosphere is vibrant yet laid-back, ideal for families and solo travelers alike. Whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, or enjoying a stroll along the shore, Agio Prokopios is a must-visit gem in Naxos!

The place was excellent, and the beach was spectacular. Local food is so tasty, and prices are very reasonable. My trip was in May, and at that time, not all restaurants were open, especially at Night. We have to go to the City, which is not far, approximately 15 -20 minutes by Car. Mr. Angil ( The Owner ) was so helpful and did everything to make our stay unforgettable

Mikri Vigla is a quiet town with a couple bakeries and restaurants. Beautiful sunsets and beaches, but you should have a car / moped to get around. The bus from Naxos Chora is infrequent and drops off at the beach, not the town proper.

I don't want to talk up Kastraki too much because if to many people are drawn to it it will become overcrowded, like Agia Anna and Plaka have become. We thoroughly enjoyed the spaciousness on the beach, the lack of crowds, and the better-than-decent restaurants within a few hundred meters.

A lovely little fishing village. 2 tavernas with lovely food plus a bar cafe. All by the sea. Very friendly. An interesting place as it used to be a mining town for Emery stones which were exported all over the world. This ended in 1990 but there are still the workings and the locals are very proud to tell you all about it. In May it is very quiet and it was very nice for 4 days. 2 beaches nearby plus a cafe selling home made cakes, coffee, drinks etc and a mini market for all your essentials. We had a very enjoyable time in Moutsouna.

Quiet beach with three Tavernas withing walking distance plus some smaller food service locations. There is a mini market where you can purchase essentials. It was very windy in June, less so we were told in September. No bus service, we hired a car but if you are prepared to walk up and doen the beach not absolutely essential.

We have stayed here three times now: as a couple in 2019; as a family in 2024 and 2025 (May) with our now two year-old daughter. We stayed somewhere else (not very good) for a 2020 trip to Naxos and really regretted it - and so we were thrilled to return in 2024 and find that we still loved Arhontiko as much as we had previously. It is absolutely ideally situated, on a quiet track just off the main town periphery road. So, you can walk to the road and be at the wonderful large supermarket within minutes (as well as Cine Naxos and a few cafes/eateries) or walk a bit further into the main town. Or, you can head in the other direction to the beach, which is just a five minute walk through a lovely 'countryside' area populated by hotels and apartments. Quiet and beautiful. It's a lovely setting. We stayed in the downstairs 'Deluxe Quadruple Room', which has a large terrace facing onto the front of the property. The room had clearly been recently completely re-designed and re-decorated and is absolutely beautiful. Exceptional furniture/bed, lovely little kitchenette etc and large TV on the wall with Netflix (we were able watch using our login.) The bathroom/shower room is the best I have ever seen in a Greek island apartment - stunning. As ever, the host, Maria, was warm and friendly and we were driven to the apartment from the port - a lovely touch. Arhontko is the best.
