Novalja peaks during summer for the festival season, with Zrce Beach nearby. However, it's a cute small town with its own little charm, I would definitely come at a less busy time (that being said, even during festival season it didn't feel crowded at all), and do some driving to nearby spots on the island. Driving is definitely preferred in Croatia in general (just be aware of limited parking and teeny two way streets), but you can arrive by bus to Novalja too.Guest review byMayaAustralia - Review score

Our second Croatian island (the first was Lošinj) and another marvel! We were enthralled by the nature, we loved the diverse beaches, the restaurants and food were great, the locals extremely friendly, and for those wondering about Zrće - yes, it is just as lively and fun as everyone is saying. Pag is truly a well-rounded destination and you can be sure there is something for everyone to discover and fall in love with.Guest review byMilkaSerbia - Review score

Small and quiet town, a few beaches, free parking lot, local supermarket, there are restaurants with good regional food. It is good place to start trips around the island Pag or go to Zadar or Sibenik. Very nice place for families with children.Guest review byPrzemysławPoland - Review score

Small village very quiet, with a couple of restaurants and a nice beach bar shaped like an old galeon. The village has a pebble beach with shallow water that is perfect for families with childre. There is another similar beach about 900 mt from the village, and you can get there by car if you wish. There are a couple of restaurants, we ate at the larger one at the beginning of the village. Nice location on the sea, food is average. There is also a very beautiful hiking trail, called "Life on Mars" that is about 8 km long and is really a must. You can walk it with sneakers, no problem. Perfect place for families and couples who look for a quiet and naturalistic place to spend a regenerating vacation.Guest review byRobertoSwitzerland - Review score
The location is fabulous.
The location is fabulous. The sea is clean and full with sea life. There are at least 3-4 restaurants in Mandre, two grocery shops and 2-3 bakeries. There is a cheese shop about 3 km away in Kolan, that has a lot of tasty local specialties.Guest review byAndrejSlovenia - Review score
It's a nice and peaceful village on the coast.
It's a nice and peaceful village on the coast. The water is really really clean everywhere (beware of sea urchins - they live only in clean waters!!!) Beaches are nice although there are no sand beaches - its stone (sometimes really sharp) or pebbles.Guest review bySasaBosnia and Herzegovina - Review score
This is a quiet place very good for families with kids.
This is a quiet place very good for families with kids. There are not that many restaurants around. There is a bakery and a small grocery shop. Most of the beaches are for the accommodated guests but there is also one large beach Planjka at the entrance to the village. There are very nice beaches available within 15mins by car - Plaza Jadra and Cista Plaza.Guest review byTomas - Review score
