Perfect location for a sunset. The rooms were really comfortable with a great view of the pool and their garden. The staff was really kind and welcoming and were there to support us with any kind of help we needed. The restaurant is just amazing. Wonderfully presented meals and really good options for breakfast. The beach is just across the road from the property and it's really good for a swim during day time and a perfect sunset during the evenings. There are nice restaurants/ cafes nearby the property as well. So plenty of options around and you don't really need to leave the area around the property during your stay.

Amazing stay, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless with free safe mineral water each day. It was no hassle to hire bikes each day, short 5 minute walk from the port and 2 minutes for the Main Street with cafes and shops. Felt very safe, pool was lovely and excellent pool bar. Wish we had stayed for longer

This would have to be the best place we have ever stayed it’s so so gorgeous rooms are spotless and super gorgeous, beds and pillows perfect the pool is great and the surprises that come out every 30 min are divine they freshen your room in the evening with the most gorgeous things The staff are the most wonderful munchkins I have evert met I can’t recommend this place enough ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Loved the location. Easy walk from arriving at the port (750 meters)The room was lovely private and quiet. Close to turtle point but far enough away from the party area. The staff were amazing. Nothing was a bother. Breakfast was amazing. We even found the lunch and dinner menu was delicious as well. We can't wait to come back.

Great accomodation, directly in Kuta with the main road in walking distance. Very clean room, nice cooking area with good equipment and a water dispenser. The staff was always helpful and friendly and we could rent scooters directly there.

Absolutely loved our stay at Quma. Such a beautiful relaxing place. Our room was just a step away from the pool, and with the day bed outside it was hard to ever walk to the beach. Breakfasts were amazing too & the food quality & presentation was excellent. The location is perfect too, only a short walk to the restaurants and the beach. Highly recommended for your stay in Gili Trawangan

Beautiful hotel! Amazing rooms, pool and restaurant with yummy food. Staff were so nice and helpful. Photos don’t do it justice! We loved our stay there. Also good location as you can walk to the Main Street with restaurants. Also able to do cheap laundry and rent moped through the hotel making life very easy. In 2025 they have building work going on. The property messaged us beforehand to tell us about this and offered us free cancellation. We chose to still go and it didn’t bother us. Very nice they were open about this.

Indonesia's Laid-back Lombok

A great alternative to busy Bali is lazy Lombok, a more authentic representation for tourists who wish to explore one of Indonesia’s more than 17,000 islands. It is separated from its naughty neighbor by the Lombok Strait to the east and from Sumbawa by the Alas Strait to the west.

Lombok is a typical island paradise of paddy fields, pristine beaches, jungle escapes and mountain retreats. It is largely inhabited by the local Sasak people with a small percentage of Balinese settlers.

Many hotels on Booking.com are centred around the capital of Mataram and the beaches stretching along the north-eastern coastline, including the sweeping bays of Senggigi. Medana Bay is another great northern location for people wanting to visit the nearby Gili Islands, a wonderful snorkeling location and nightlife choice.

Escape the tropical heat in the mountains surrounding Gunung Rinjani, an active volcano where tourists can break in their newly acquired trekking shoes. Other adventures abound on the southern surf beaches of Lombok.

Lombok International Airport is located 33 km south-west from Mataram and services daily flights mainly from Jakarta and Bali. This round-shaped island is approximately 80 km in both directions and offers plenty of variety for a great holiday.

    I absolutely loved my stay at Gili Trawangan, I am so glad I ended up by visiting to see what it was like. This will be my go to spot every time I visit Bali in the future. The scenery is beautiful, the people and ambience are just wonderful. Transport and options of activities are easy to access and organise, I felt so relaxed and at home the entire time. Was a perfect balance for me having the option of nightlife but also just being able to relax and enjoy all the simple things Gili had to offer. The variety and quality of food is also something I’d like to mention. It’s a foodie and beach lovers paradise. I cannot wait to come back 💜💜💜

    Stunning beaches and nature.

    Stunning beaches and nature. A white sandy beach on the hillside! No traffic, yet it offers complete amenities. A magnificent experience! It's less than an hour's flight from Bali or a 1.5-hour boat ride from Bali! Highly recommend!

    The local food, the holiday vibe, and the village were lovely. The mosque, the roosters waking at 2AM and fires burning make for disrupted nights of sleep and really bad air quality. The beaches were mirky and not great for snorkling - a lot of weed. You have to pay for a snorkling trip if you want to see any decent fish.

    Stayed at tne katamaran hotel, stunning hotel with great food and provided a restful quiet break in stunning surroundings. Both restaurants on site provided great food. The spa was also gorgeous. The entire stay was heavenly! Alu at tne senggigi ferry port organised an amazing day snorkelling at three of the Gili islands. Paradise!

    Loved it!

    Loved it! Super calm, I recommend renting a bike to walk around the the island. There are a lot of restaurants near the beach. The north beach has turtles, its amazing! And for the statues under water, you dont need to pay for a guide tour, you can easily go by yourself (I did). Its 100 meters from the coast.

    The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so welcoming and friendly. They will do almost anything to cater for travellers, for example I am 68 and wouldn’t have been able to do the 6 km walking tour up and down hills and uneven surfaces so they organised a motorbike tour which was great. The tour of the villages was also good and very interesting and informative to see the local market, pottery being made, textile weaving and bamboo weaving. There was a good variety of food and the family dinner was wonderful, so much delicious local food. The accommodation was suitable in a peaceful environment. I really enjoyed my stay.

    Was exhausted after Mt.

    Was exhausted after Mt. Rinjani climb and this impacted on my exploration of the wider area, which I would've liked to have done more of. Also despite being officially the 'dry season', the weather was often overcast and rainy. I think had things been slightly different and I had had more time, the experience would have been better.. But still a lovely place that has less tourists than other parts of Indonesia.

    beautiful island we stayed at Wilson’s retreat very peaceful stunning back white sand blue sea swan with turtles and fish just off the beach incredible lovely resort with beautiful pool villa restaurants on the beach with delicious food no cars so no pollution every one on bikes and horse transport i was concerned about the horses but they did look healthy and they have regulated hours and loads small island so easy to get around lots of great cheap massage in the beach heaven !
