We thought the Town Centre had a lot of homeless people asking for money. To be honest we were not comfortable walking around in some areas. On a number of occasions we felt like we were being too closely followed by seedy looking guys.Guest review byMelissaAustralia - 10.0

Lovely town with great views of Lough Derg and the Shannon, Enjoyed a lovely boat trip with Killaloe Boat Trip. Without asking they provided water for my dog and invited my kids to steer the boat . Crew were extremely courtious and friendly After we had lunch at Flanagans overling the Shannon. Food was very good.. The Workhouse was interesting to see but we did not tour. The Castle was not visible from a close drive-by - one had to proceed down a drive to see. Enjoyed seeing all the cruisers docked along the Shannon. Restaurants sparse, but found a very fine pub to watch a football match. Precious little activity in town while we were there. Beautiful room & very clean.
Beautiful room & very clean. Well stocked with everything you needed for a cold breakfast in your room. Also dining room if you wanted a hot breakfast. Perfect hosts that made you feel so welcome. Lovely bar close by where i felt at ease being on my own. Dromineer is small so cant get lost but is beautiful, peaceful & amazing scenery. Limerick is given a bad reputation, but I've had no problems. A few beggers out at night in the city centre, but no different to other cities. If staying more than just overnight, plenty of lovely scenic places to visit a short distance away.
