We only stayed 3 nights, wish it had been for longer as it was a long day from N. Ireland to get there but the bus, train, train, tram, train and then a taxi was excellent - I wished we'd stayed longer. Loved the street with all the buskers and live-music pubs and eateries - very colourful. Hop on/off bus was great to see more of the area, to see long road mentioned in the song Galway Girl. JFK in the park, he gave money to help build the Cathedral (glass from the Vatican allegedly). People still went to University during the famine ! Fabulous coach and boat trip to Aran Islands - a long day but worth it. I want to return to spend more time in Doolin which is the place to be for live music our guide told us. Beautiful. I got an Aran cardigan too, and a Cloddagh thumb ring as mementos. Definitely going back and for longer next time and will use this accommodation again as it's excellent value for money plus we saved money eating there every night.Guest review byJOANNE SparrowUnited Kingdom - Review score

Obviously a very touristy town, most of the town appears to be made up of hotels and BnBs. However because of it it also has a wide range of restaurants and cafes featuring a wide range of cuisines. Being there on a Saturday night it also appeared to have a thriving nightlife. Being there in Summer meant that Murphys Icecream was still open at 11PM. I ate at Mizus - a wonderful Japanese restaurant with tremendous work gone into the decor and food that matched. Breakfast at Zone was very busy on a wet morning and full of families - always a good sign for me, food and coffee was lovely. I stayed in middle of town and walked out to the INEC for a gig - about 25 mins on a nice evening but also seemed to be plenty of taxis flying around. Traffic was very busy come 12 o clock on Sunday morning but it didnt take me too long to get away around the outside of the townGuest review byBrianIreland - Review score

We thought the Town Centre had a lot of homeless people asking for money. To be honest we were not comfortable walking around in some areas. On a number of occasions we felt like we were being too closely followed by seedy looking guys.Guest review byMelissaAustralia - Review score

With the exception of the abbey, the town of Sligo isn't a particularly strong attraction. The surrounding countryside is another matter. Downpatrick Head, the town and beach of Mullaghmore, Keash Caves, Queen Maeve's Cairn, Union Rock, walks along the shores of Lough Gill, are all easily accessible by car from a base in the town and well worth a visit.Guest review byJohnCanada - Review score

Loved Donegal Castle - it's all walkable.
Loved Donegal Castle - it's all walkable. We had hoped to take the boat trip but it is at the mercy of the tides and the sailing wasn't going until 4pm on the day we were leaving - so we weren't able to do this. You can do Donegal in a day. There are lots of restaurants.Guest review byJoUnited Kingdom - Review score

Doolin is a friendly little area perfectly located to see the Cliffs of Moher. We carried out some excellent food from Gus O'Connor's Pub, but wish we had time to stay and enjoy the band that was going to be playing later in the evening.Guest review byAlanUnited States - Review score

Bedroom: charmless, very cramped, no chair, no table, toy-size TV a few centimetres from ceiling. Teabags out their box that could have been exposed to dust and touched by many people. Bathroom : no towel rail.Guest review byJimUnited Kingdom
