The pictures in travel brochures do not make this area look as good as it is. It is a surprise and they give security on the beaches. Rimini town centre has the PALAZZO ARENGO in Cavour Piazza and quality shopping with shoes in leather from between 80 euros up to 200 euros for leather soled shoes and french handbags.Guest review byMarie CatherineUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Riccione is very nice overall.
Riccione is very nice overall. Somewhat expensive for certain parts compared to other european resorts but easy enough to get around when you are there. It took us a while to figure the town out as we'd arrived from Bologna which is typical city whereas Riccione is a sleepier resort and runs very differently to a lot of places I have been previously. Once we'd got the hang of it (and the good weather started to come) we realised we could have done with a few extra days to finally relax lol. The beach is nice as is the promenade for a walk and getting the steps in to work off the pasta... Usual tourist type shops and not too many chain stores which was refreshing to be honest. Most places prefer cash which again, very refreshing. Huge selection of restaurants and eateries. Seemed to have a tight knit community as well. Getting to it from major airports is a tad tricky as it isn't well connected by public transport and the services that do run are not regular. Especially if the major train services are cancelled (which they frequently were during our stay across Bologna and Riccione) and sadly on our return day, we arrived at the train station to find our train had been cancelled so we had no other choice but to get a cab and found ourselves with a 300 euro cab ride for a journey that by rights should have cost max 150 euros. We felt a little ripped off with their taxis in riccione in general and after speaking with other travellers we discovered that it is just their way because there are not so many so they can set the prices high. So we weren't personally ripped off but the system is.Guest review byAlexisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A small city with many attractions for us. A great Mondadori bookstore with very friendly people working there. Nice stores and great wine stores. Easy to walk to the beach and canal. Very good restaurants.Guest review byetleeUnited States - 8.0

It was still quiet when we arrived on 24th May but was definitely more full of excited Italians at the end of the week! There didn’t see to be many buses that you could just hop on to go to other areas. The local markets are great. Eating out was hit and miss, I’m afraid we did not have one good meal out and the food we had was not good value. For example in La Mo’s I had some fish dish like prawns on skewers which was very expensive and all it came with was some dry bread and a few rocket leaves - Disappointing.Guest review byKarinaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There were not so much of the signs of ancient Roman Empire, but the most monuments are from the time of Byzantine rule. If you are interested in the archeological side of history or Mosaic art, maybe it is an interesting place.Guest review bySouichiJapan - 6.0

The problem here is barely anyone speaks English do it is hard to order taxis and was very isolated. When you could manage to convert you needed a taxi ride they price gouged charging 26 Euro for an 8 minute ride!! I would not choose this destination unless you are visiting the Misano WorldCircuit and then book early so you can stay close byGuest review byKimAustralia - 10.0

Good selection of shops and restaurants on mostly pedestrianised streets. Food was generally very good but quite expensive. Lots of people out in the evenings enjoying a stroll. Generally felt very safe to walk about. Station and metro are a short walk from the centre if you wish to travel further afield.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom
