Wonderful skiing holiday.
Wonderful skiing holiday. If you haven’t a car then there is a timetable for shuttle buses to take you you to the lifts and the town. They are a public service so have a set route and designated stops. There is Only one supermarket ( in the town). Whilst ample for us it has limited supplies and shuts between 12.30 and 15.30, however fine for us on a limited budget. We ate out on 3 occasions and would say costs are cheaper than the Uk do not overly expensive.Guest review byannUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I loved Valtournenche!
I loved Valtournenche! This is a small to medium village in the mountains. Lovely atmosphere when walking through the village. Tourist Information Centre for the village and surrounding area available. Plenty of restaurants /cafes to choose from and even a cheese factory! It is a cute little ski resort best for the family with small children or beginner skier. There were less people on weekdays so we did not wait for a lift at all. Driving 30-40mins you can get to the Cervino ski paradise. You will find the hotel much cheaper in Torgnon. There are a small supermarket and few restaurants in a village but if you have a car, in 10 mins drive you will find many options.Guest review byFuminaUnited States - 10.0

Nice little village with lovely people and a couple of nice places to eat in the day and early evening. The shop was open most of the week and had a good range even though it was small. There was plenty of parking in the carpark for our car (and a great price for the week) at the bottom of the cable car which ran every half an hour from 7:30am to 10:30pm. Good value tickets for the two of us for 10 rides each which is all we needed for our week's holiday. The walks from Chamois were really lovely although quite hard going up and down the mountains which were quite steep but worth the views from the top. In season you can get a chair lift but we liked the challenge!! One week was plenty for us, we had a fab time and glad it wasn't too hot for our walks.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Cervinia is a very good quality, large, high and thus snow assured ski resort. There is not much challenge for advanced skiers as the resort tream piste bash the runs every night leaving no moguls (bumps). Being so large their is still plenty of ski are so advanced skiers can work on their skills and are kept interested. Far better value than the Swiss side.
