Rome is a very walkable city with most major attractions close by. I would recommend a minimum of 2 full days to see the main attractions. If wanting to pay admission to enter the key sites you will need to allow additional time. Recommend visiting key sites early in the day before the crowds get to big.Guest review byDavidNew Zealand - Review score

It is a good overnight location for flights out of Rome instead of going into Rome itself. We organized pick up and return to the airport through the accommodation. We had dinner at Fishum which was great - excellent food, friendly staff and the largest Aperol Spritz I had in Sardinia. We're not a young couple. We're old backpackers (82 & 81) who like comfort these days rather than hostels.Guest review byDeniseAustralia - Review score

Most liked the place we stayed and it's location to everything we wanted to see. We had a fantastic food tour that was really a tour of a historical part of the city. The tour guide was well versed in the very interesting history of the city (helps a lot to get to know a place) This city is so clean, walkable, loads of great restaurants, friendly residents that make a tourist feel at home and welcomed. Walking through the city is a little like walking back in time, relaxed and comfortable. Having the food tour we ate at several restaurants, all were great but Oh Lord was the most memorable. Even the short cab ride to the port was interesting. We would love to return.Guest review byBetty - Review score

I use Lido di Ostia as a jump off spot on arrival and a rest spot before leaving for my transatlantic flight. It is very close to Fiumicino and some nice restaurants, bars and night spots at the port. Its a relatively safe area just outside of Rome, but with good access to the city.Guest review byGiancarloCanada - Review score

A bit of a military town (nato and US frigates, etc) but I think Gaeta has something for everyone. Great community, historical sights, and an amazing park with ruins and tunnels. It did cost me 25€ to get to my hotel from the train station, but I was told by locals this was a fair price,Guest review byAnonymous - Review score
A lovely mostly little undiscovered medieval town.
A lovely mostly little undiscovered medieval town. It’s only small but very cute with lots of restaurants and an attractive cathedral and papal palace. Easily walkable and not very far from Rome. Mostly quiet except on weekendsGuest review bycatherineAustralia - Review score
Beyond gorgeous.
Beyond gorgeous. It’s a dream vacation spot and easily travelled by electric bike to all the beaches. Mostly Italian tourists which made it seem much more chilled out than other beach spots in Italy. Highly recommendGuest review byKristinaUnited States - Review score
We stayed at Al Catillo and was so close to everything.
We stayed at Al Catillo and was so close to everything. The restaurants were the best part of Tivoli as there were many to chose from and a great value. Beautiful town with very friendly locals. Everything was close enough to walk and shopping was great.Guest review byJamesUnited States - Review score

A lovely little village where most of the tourists are Italian, so you don't have to hear your native language from every other person you come across and the experience is not a "tourist trap". After the hustle and bustle of Rome, it was wonderful to come here and get a peace and quiet and swim in the sea. Lots of restaurants, it's worth making a table reservation for the weekend A week's trip might be too long unless you just like to lie on the beachGuest review bySusanna - Review score
We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June.
We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June. We experienced a local feel with few tourists. the old town is fantastic. We rented electric bikes, which is recommended. Then you can get around easily. A trip up to the temple went like a dream in the heat. We also cycled out to the Cantina Sant'Andrea winery. It took approx. one hour one way. A wonderful trip and a great visit where we tasted many good wines. One should also enter a trip to Ponza. The ferry departs from the city centre. An incredibly cozy island. We chose to rent a boat when we were out there, so that we could take a trip to the outside of the island and swim in the crystal clear water. It was magical! We only took a day trip, but we should have included an overnight stay at Ponza.Guest review byKnut IvarNorway
