FAQs about hotels in Lombardy
Sophisticated and Serene
The diverse region of Lombardy touches the 3 largest Italian lakes: Lake Garda, Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. Their beautiful shores house many Lombardy luxury hotels and even more luxurious celebrity residences.
The rich and famous also flock to Milan, one of the world’s fashion capitals, where designer boutiques are found alongside La Scala opera house and the iconic San Siro football stadium. To the south, Pavia is best known for its elaborate monastery, while Monza to the north-east hosts the F1 Italian Grand Prix and World Superbike Championship.
Nearby Bergamo is the hub for cheap flights to Milan and it also has a historic old town, while to its east is peaceful Lake Iseo. A smaller lake is located by Varese, and artificial lakes also almost entirely surround the important medieval city of Mantua, seat of the Gonzaga court during the Renaissance.
Brescia to the north-west has monuments dating back to Roman times, while Cremona to the south-west has an impressive cross-shaped cathedral and huge belltower. This beautiful city is on the Po, Italy’s longest river which forms part of the Lombardy border.

Great public transport. Easy to walk around.
Great public transport. Easy to walk around. Easy to take day trips to nearby cities.. Lots of sightseeing places.. Enjoyed SignorVino for apps/ cocktails.. One annoying feature in most of Europe: you need to pay to use a public bathroom.. or otherwise 'buy' something at a bar/ coffee shop to do so!Guest review byAnaUnited States - Review score

It is better to stay outside Sirmione as it can get very crowded. We were able to walk into Sirmione easily and eat there and walk back to our hotel. We went to the other towns by ferry the terminal is located in Sirmione and we went to the hot spa in Sirmione and enjoyed the thermal waters.Guest review byJayneUnited Kingdom - Review score

Having spent 311 nights in Limone you must understand that we like it and the surrounding north Lake Garda area. Last year it was selected as the most superb flower decorated town in Italy and at the international competition won the top five 'petals' in it's category of small resorts. The winter population is 1200 people but usually busy with visitors from the end of April till mid October. The only criticism this year is that I detected a cigarette end on some steps! Standards are slipping but the Mayor, Il Sindaco, was quite distressed. If in doubt just go and you will not be disappointed.Guest review byDuncanUnited Kingdom - Review score

It was lovely! Super spacious more than what you’d get in a small hotel nearer to the airport, and for the price you get way more than you’d get at an airport! We highly recommend it a short free shuttle bus then a 9 min walk to the place! We loved it would highly recommend !Guest review byEmmaUnited Kingdom - Review score

A very pleasant and charming small town nestled in the mountains. The town reflects its rich history, yet it offers plenty of small shops. The mountain slopes are right next door and easily accessible from the town. The opportunities for cycling, spa visits, and hiking are fantastic!Guest review bySamuliFinland - Review score

This place is beautiful and I'm very pleased to have been however I think a week was too long. 4 to 5 days would have been perfect. Parking is very bad and roads are narrow and difficult. The quality of the food in restaurants is very poor and very expensive. The pizzas are very good but you don't want them every day. We found a great place on our last evening, Seta, in the centre of bellagio. If we had known earlier we would have eaten there every night. Google it! Overall though, this place is so beautiful, it is worth a visit.Guest review byLindseyUnited Kingdom
