    We did not know much about Lyon before we went.

    We did not know much about Lyon before we went. We were only there for 2 full days, and there was much more we could have seen and done, but it is a manageable city, (I would recommend 3 or 4 days to take it all in, or more if you take advantage of day trips in and around Lyon) Even though it is one of France’s largest cities, It doesn’t feel large and overwhelming. When we went (mid June) it didn’t feel overrun with tourists. We spent most of our time outside and walking around the various parts of the city but it has plenty of museums and indoor venues which we could have visited if we had been there longer. It is a lovely city for strolling especially Old Lyons cobbled streets (wear good shoes). It has a good transportation system. The eating options were excellent and varied.

    Interesting old town with plenty of bars and restaurants. It was very busy over a Music Festival weekend. As a result it did feel “very touristy” and some of the service staff were functional rather than friendly. Nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend Annecy for a stopover in any itinerary in this part of France.

    There are so many natural wonders at Chamonix Mont Blanc, we loved the Aguile Du Midi cable car and the mazing views it afforded us, we also loved taking the trams both at St Gervais and the Mer De Glace… amazing to see inside a Glacier you really just give it a go. Shops in the town centre offer everything you need from clothing, equipment, souvenirs, dining and supermarkets… you reallly couldn’t ask for anymore.

    I came here to help my Daughter move home after a semester abroad. We stayed for a few days so she could show me some of her favorite spots, but we didn't get to everything. Could have easily spent more time exploring. The city transit system made it easy anywhere we wanted to go. The trip up the Bastille using cable cars was fun and offered amazing views

    To be honest, Valence is an ugly city.

    To be honest, Valence is an ugly city. The Rhone flows through it but alas large motorways beside it. The centre is a bit run down. If you are on your way and are near it, you can visit the centre and have something to eat. There is a nice park near the river.

    Interesting town with cultural heritage.

    Interesting town with cultural heritage. I was just passing through en route from Italy to London but it is a perfect stopover for one night. Unfortunately I was there on a Monday, when some attractions eg the castle are closed but I did visit the cathedral. There are many restaurants which sell local produce.

    One of the most beautiful locations in France. The most spectacular Alpine scenery you could wish to see is all around you. Fabulous places to eat and drink in town and around the lake. Wonderful strolls, hikes and sports to do on the water and in the surrounding mountains. Oh and did I mention the views? 💖

I made 3 separate booking .You have to buy your own Toilet paper .room cleaning is extra charge .If I booked 3 times in separate occasions they must be doing the bed and give the cleaned room to me no matter its same room . I paid full price .There was a bug at the window and Room220 is right at the road where Tram runs 24 hours almost .Christina is very rude so be firm with her .The rest of girls are really nice and speaks some English.Christina does not know English at all .She should not be working at a hotel where mostly Foreigners stays .

    The street this apartment is on is a dead-end, poorly-lit, private street that does not appear on some maps, so it can be very hard to find. The apartment building itself on the street was tricky to find because the street addresses were not consecutive. The door to the apartment was on the ground floor, but once inside the apartment, you had to go up a steep, rickety flight of stairs to get to the apartment itself, which was on the next floor. The apartment is described as a 2-bedroom, but it is not; it is rather a large space with two beds in different, open sections of the apartment, so no privacy at all. Very few electrical outlets and poor lighting. Not particularly clean. The wifi didn't work and when I texted the host about it, he was unhelpful/indifferent. After I left, the host tried to charge me 800 euro for supposedly damaging the television/monitor; when in fact I neither used nor touched the television/monitor the whole time I was there. Very unpleasant. All in all, not a great place to stay. Lyon is a big city so find another accommodation.

    Lyon is such a relaxed city which prioritises pedestrians. It has calm atmosphere with beautiful building's great restaurants and is culturally rich with numerous museums. I thoroughly recommend a visit , the transport system is easy to use to get around . I would finally add I found the lyonnaise I spoke to tremendously welcoming . I’ll return definitely.
