It’s a very vibrant city and super walkable. The architecture, history, and art is breathtaking. We spent one day at a cooking class about 20 minutes outside of town at a beautiful kitchen and gardens overlooking a Tuscan valley.Guest review byKathyUnited States - 6.0

Pisa has the leaning tower and - as a barmen in Florence said to us! - "lots of tourists pretending to hold it up in photos." That's... really pretty much it. Nothing else stood out. Restaurants weren't as good Bologna, only a fraction of what there is to do in Florence. We spent €40 each on tickets for a timed visit to the tower and other buildings on the Piazza, only to find they just covered the tower and cathedral, not the museum or baptistry. Bit of a rip-off. If going to Italy again, I would not spend more than a full day in Pisa - go to Rome, Florence or Bologna instead.Guest review byAnton SIreland - 10.0
Wonderful city.
Wonderful city. Has much of the magic of Florence, and must less of the crowds. Enough to keep a traveler fully occupied for at least a week. Duomo must more interesting than the one in Florence. City is small enough one can walk it without much difficulty.Guest review byMulford - 10.0

Beautiful apartment, spacious and comfortable- perfect for our family of 4. Very comfortable beds! The view over the square was charming. Take note that parking is not available- you have to park outside of the city walls.Guest review byEmilyUnited Kingdom - 4.0

Was not impressed with the city and expected more given all the review I read online. My disapointment could be due to the fact I visited in February, so off season. I booked two nights but decided to only stay for one and left early. Even though I booked a room in the central part of the city I did not feel safe walking the streets at night.Guest review byViktoria - 10.0

San Gimignano is a unique gem - a beautifully preserved piece of antiquity. Unfortunately, it is a bit overrun by tour groups during the day, but early morning and from late afternoon onward, it is truly wonderful. It's well worth a longer stay as there are interesting exhibits/museums, absolutely magnificent hikes in the breathtaking countryside, and easy day trips to places like Siena and Colle Val d'Elsa.Guest review byHopkins - 2.0
I got a single room on the second floor with breakfast.
I got a single room on the second floor with breakfast. My bathroom, the loo, was not cleaned prior my checking in. Smells like a public toilet! It looks like it was wiped with a dry towel. This gave me a headache! There was nothing like a fresh smell when it was used something like a flash or a bleach. My room was facing so-calledd sea view. Opposite of it, on the street is a restaurant on the pavement, where they play super loud music after 10.00 pm till midnight! Actually there were a proper concerts. Even with closed windows the music was loud. I have been waiting often for a long time to get the room key. The receptionist was explaining something for ever to the newly arrived couple. Breakfast, there is no plain yoghurt. No tomatoes! How can you not serve tomatoes in Italy!!!?? There was a bitter, artificial fluid, pretending to be a juice. Disgusting. I just got my tomatoes and a yoghurt from the supermarket, for tomorrow breakfast. However, in the price £100 per night, the breakfast is included! And more to it. The beach is mostly private. To put the towel on the sand, they want to charge you. The sea is very shallow. It's impossible to swim. People are just standing in the sea. Next to me German older couple was arguing, they never heard of private beaches, to pay for a towel on the sand or a bed with the umbrella from 20 to 150 euros! I booked the hotel via booking.com and chosen for great reviews. My experience was not good at all. I complained to the lady receptionist and she was dismissive. According to her nothing was wrong. I will be requesting my money back .Guest review byKatarzyna - 10.0
Great hilltop town to visit.
Great hilltop town to visit. Once you know where to park your car, all things seem easy. Very crowded. Many cafes and restaurants options. It’s a good place to go if you like to walk, and hike the steep road.Guest review byBrianUnited States - 8.0
Nice town for accessing the Tuscany region.
Nice town for accessing the Tuscany region. We stayed outside the actual town at Pomaio Vineyard in a villa overlooking Arezzo. It was convenient to both the town and other tourist destinations. It was pleasant staying outside on a vineyard. Arezzo was quieter than some Tuscan towns but it was easy enough to get around, with a car.Guest review bySHELLEYAustralia - 4.0
Everything was a bit run-down and in need of restoration.
Everything was a bit run-down and in need of restoration. The beaches and restaurants were almost entirely empty of people, so there was a a lack of excitement and "buzz" about the whole area. I might have expected this a month later, but not in September.Guest review byAntony
