Right by the beach with excellent restaurants and bars all within walking distance. Some shops for holiday shopping and a good supermarket if you are self catering. Everything you want for a holiday in the sun.Guest review byWettonUnited Kingdom - Review score
Castries is a harsh city. Not violet.
Castries is a harsh city. Not violet. But difficult to spend time in. It's not setup for tourists who are not in a resort or on a cruise. There are very few sit-down atmospheric restaurants and bars. It's a city for the locals and its a poor community. Everyone I met was very nice and friendly. They are wonderful people. But it's not what you might call 'charming'. The roads and traffic are a nightmare and a day here is enough. Rodney Bay is a much more vacation friendly place. I mostly enjoyed my stay here, but be prepared for confronting the results of colonial abuse and corruption. Frankly the locals are demonstrating a high degree of humility, love and forgiveness despite what our western ancestors have done to them, and are still doing. I learned something very important about western entitlement by staying here.Guest review byWarneCanada - Review score
The whole area looks like paradise.
The whole area looks like paradise. The people are nice and friendly, lots of restaurants and things to do. Roads are a little narrow and there are potholes and access to some of the beaches is through bad roads therefore definetly recommend an SUV to just not care about this aspect.Guest review byIonut-RazvanRomania - Review score

The beach is very nice; the southern end is quieter with shallower waters. The mall has a lot of different eating options and a large supermarket. Most of the tourists speak English and English is the language of the island. You can take day cruises from Rodney Bay MarinaGuest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - Review score
I enjoyed my stay at Marigot Beach Resort.
I enjoyed my stay at Marigot Beach Resort. I loved the ambience, my room, the cleanliness of the hotel and the customer service. The menu was varied enough, though the meals could have been a bit tastier. I plan on revisiting there in two weeks' time - on business. I recommend Marigot Beach Resort for its beauty, serenity and comfort.Guest review bySusanTrinidad and Tobago - Review score
We really liked Anse La Raye.
We really liked Anse La Raye. It's a typical fishing village where you can see how locals live. I do recommend restaurant called Valelse Sports Bar & Soup Kitchen. We dined there on 4 occasions, food and service we really good:)Guest review byMaciejPoland - Review score

The Cap Estate has amazing villas and is the most upmarket part of the island. There are luxurious hotels in the Cap Estate so you can easily dine out in the hotels and experience their facilities. It is a 10 minute drive to Rodney Bay, if you want a night out in the bars and restaurants or if you wish to go shopping in the arcades. It was easy to get around the Cap Estate as the roads are fine but there are a few pot holes.Guest review byHelen CUnited Kingdom - Review score

We visited the waterfall, Deborah swam and I enjoyed being in the tropical rainforest. Deborah also went for the fish foot massage. We both went to the nearby fishing village and enjoyed a Piton or two talking to the fishermen. .Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - Review score

Excellent location if you want to be able to visit restaurants and shopping and the beach is excellent - it is far from the international airport (but close to the regional airport) and most tourist sites, but if you want more than just to stay at your hotel - go for Gros Islet! Easy enough to organise trips to the mud baths, etcGuest review byNancyUnited Kingdom - Review score

Castries town centre is charming with a nice market and several excellent restaurants. People of St.Lucia are really friendly and always happy to help you out. There are plenty of shops stocking local and some international goods, especially the shops on-route to Rodney Bay. Choc beach near Castries was beautiful, clean & quiet with very calm sea waves. Excellent for swimming including children. We found the beach to be very quiet all day long with only a handful of people passing by, so ideal for sunbathing too. The Sunsets are magical.Guest review byNarmsUnited Kingdom
