Tromso was fantastic.
Tromso was fantastic. Plenty to do, lovely walks, friendly people, lots of restaurants and shops. Really beautiful. Just make sure to pack plenty of warm clothes for the winter! I would definitely recommend visiting Tromso if you get the chance. a unique, beautiful city. We travelled to and from the airport by taxi which was easy, but seems there are also lost of local buses. The centre of town is extremely walkable. We booked a Northern Lights tour while we were there and we were lucky enough to get to see them! Something to note: we travelled over Easter weekend and quite a lot of the shops and restaurants were shut due to the holiday. There was enough open for us still to be able to eat out and the small local shop was open.Guest review byChloe - 10.0

A beautiful area to explore - so many off the beaten path roads to take to spectacular views, with no crowds. We had bad weather and still enjoyed the spectacular scenery, and the people were all so friendly. Highly recommend this town and the Lofoten Island area!!Guest review byMary JacobUnited States - 10.0
Beautiful town!
Beautiful town! Try to be there when there aren't tour busses full of people. During the summer and the midnight sun it's really pleasant at night. Our highlight was hiking the Reinebringen - twice! Once at night, once in the morning. We also watched for orcas, which we heard were sighted pretty often that week but we didn't see them. Highly recommend staying at the Sakrisoy Gjestegård but it's easiest to get around if you have a car.Guest review byCherylUnited States - 8.0
We loved the beauty of the city.
We loved the beauty of the city. Tourist information staff were very friendly and helpful with information for sightseeing. War museum is excellently presented. Gondola ride to the top of Narvikfjellet is a must to see the beautiful sights from above Buses were easy to use and the plenty of shopping centres. We loved all the memorial statues, a beautiful city. We also took a ride on the Arctic Train, suggest this is a day time trip to see the amazing scenery.Guest review byChezAustralia - 10.0
A gateway to other areas like Lofoten.
A gateway to other areas like Lofoten. My recommendation is to stay further afield to the full extent you can. as things like quiet, darkness and views all improve a lot away from the airport. And once you do... it can be magic.Guest review byPeterNew Zealand - 10.0

We chose Alta, the City of Northern Lights, to "Hunt the Aurora Borealis". We were NOT disappointed. It was a magical experience. Lots of beautiful northern lights shows. We did a number of activities: night time horse drawn sleigh ride and dinner; king crab fishing experience; tour of the Ice Hotel at Sorrisniva; dog sled ride at Holmen Husky. We stayed at a canvas dome in GLOD, with the most amazing guide to see the Northern Lights. We stayed in a forest suite at Holmen Husky. The place was incredible and the way they treat the dogs will completely change your thoughts on the sport of dog sledding. They were the sweetest and happiest dogs I've ever seen. We stayed at Flatmoen Natur Lodge, which is a family owned and ran farm. Each lodge has their own private, outdoor jacuzzi so you can sit outside while the snow is falling or hope to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.Guest review bycmayes80United States - 10.0
Can't really find any negatives for this place.
Can't really find any negatives for this place. The locals are very friendly, the streets are clean, the scenery is stunning and best of all its only about 35 minutes drive to Norkapp. If you are visiting we would 100% recommend booking a trip to Norkapp. Its a fascinating place...the top of Europe!!. We flew in, stayed 3 nights then departed on a fjord cruise. Well worth every penny. We decided to take a walk one morning, its obviously very hilly but not too taxing. Its about 5 miles to completely encircle the town though that did include a few detours for the sake of photos. There is a restaurant close to the Norkapp museum called The Corner. The food, welcome and service were second to none. Totally recommend it to any visitors. Well that's my opinion of Honningsvag, visit yourself and see what you think.Guest review byJimmy & JulieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

What i like most about Henningsvær is the mountains and the fishermenn were there boats laying very fascinating towards the mountain. The people very approachable and we've been to one store name engelskbrygge if i'm not mistaken or kiramikk making glasses. She was very nice i asked her what is Henningsvær why a lot of tourists people from other countries visit this place. She explained to me on why, due to mountais, old town, the fish hanging all over the place is fascinating, football field and around that place, the rocks is very special, the waves from the ocean, the fishermann boats laying straight to the mountain, small village but full of life. This place is easy to get around.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Must visit city in Norway especially in the winter.
Must visit city in Norway especially in the winter. Don't miss out on the Northern lights trips. If you are a nature lover, please drive down to the islands of Kvaløya & Sommarøy which has stunning sceneries. Fjellheisen cable car is another must visit as well. Tromso is magical in winter so plan your trip accordingly!!Guest review byGeorgeIndia
