My grendparents where born in queenstown so I have been coming for many years. Unfortunately it is ruined like many other tourist spots in the world (over tourism). Bigger is not better. Instead go to arrowtown or wanaka.Guest review byMIKENew Zealand - Review score

Some great cafes near the Octagon, our favourite is The Corner Store cafe in Stuart St. Fantastic food at the cafe inside the Ebb Hotel also. Drive out past Port Chalmers and the restaurant there, the Carey's Bay Historic hotel does a fantastic lunch. Drive out to Aramoana after lunch; a desolate, haunted but beautiful place. The Esplanade cafe at St Clairs beach does incredible pizzas after a walk on the beach. Emerson's brewery is always a fave, and Balmac number 7 and Harbvourside are excellent restaurants, Balmac number 7 more upmarket, both with great food.Guest review byJaneNew Zealand - Review score

We really enjoyed our brief visit in Wanaka with great places to eat for the whole family. The transport Museum was outstanding but allow at least half a day to spend there and also visit the nearby Puzzle Park for the kidsGuest review byGrahamAustralia - Review score
Gorgeous settlement - by the ocean.
Gorgeous settlement - by the ocean. Stunning historical buildings, vibrant shops filled with goodies, Sunday market brimming with organic produce - vegetables, honey, cheese, soaps, lotions, coffee and yummy treats. No junk - wonderful homemade produce at exceptionally good prices, for example - two cheese rolls and a cup of soup for $9.Guest review byAnonymous - Review score

I love the area and the town of Cromwell with its rich history. It still has a small-town community feel to it, which I love. My husband scored a much sought-after purchase, Cromwell shops did not disappoint.Guest review byMirjamNew Zealand - Review score
It was our second visit and we stayed for two nights.
It was our second visit and we stayed for two nights. The history, ambience, restaurants and cafes, architecture, layout and lack of fast food outlets makes Arrowtown so special. We will be back. So much to see, do and experience! The autumn trees and the parks are stunning.Guest review byPeter HNew Zealand - Review score
There is a big clock on the hilltop.
There is a big clock on the hilltop. A big playground in the city centre. An information centre with a museum and a small gallery in the same building. We could walk along the river in the bush. Grocery shopping was easy as there are two major supermarkets, New World and Woolworths. Fast food was easy to find. Cafes offer good-tasting coffee. There is plenty of free parking in the town centre, from where we could walk almost anywhere around the town. Alexandra is a small town for a visit, where you want to unwind in a laid-back setting. It is also close to Cromwell and Roxburgh, where you can go for cherry picking in the summer.Guest review byZeyingNew Zealand - Review score

Traveled south to support our basketball tem who played in Dunedin. Mosgiel was close enough for a short trip into town, yet far enough out to avoid any hussel & bussel of city life. Close to the airport for our departure. Lovely little town with all the services you could need. I'll be back to stay again.Guest review byPaulNew Zealand - Review score
