Great location. Quite a bit outside of the Centre of Oban, but therefore quiet, exactly what we like. You need transport given the distance to the center, but the cars (available for small daily charge) provide that freedom and opportunity. Luxurous cabins. We had the bad luck that during our stay, the water pump broke down, meaning that our cabin didn’t have any running water during 3 out of our 4 days. However, the owner did everything to find solutions (helping us finding a place to shower and getting us drinking water), and compensated us very generously. Therefore, we highly recommend!

The location and setting of Church Hill are truly beautiful, relaxing and special. The room was scrupulously clean, continually maintained and provided everything needed for our stay and more. All the food at Church Hill was exceptional. We were very well looked after throughout our stay. Bonus points for Alfie the dog!

The township of Oban is the place to find out most info, access e-bikes and get details of walks, kiwis, trips to places such as Ulva Island. It’s the central township for the island. Glad it has a four square, friendly people at the Doc site. Butterfield Bay is gorgeous.

Great place. I would have liked more time to do more walks.

Great place. I would have liked more time to do more walks. We stayed 2 nights - just enough to do a kiwi experience and visit Ulva Island. We were unlucky with no Kiwi sightings. But the longer walks would have green goid to do if we had more time.

We loved Stewart Island and our travel by ferry to Half Moon Bay. We ate several meals at South Sea Restaurant. Delicious! Several walks, beaches and sights were within easy walking distance. We took a taxi from our accommodations to Golden Bay for our Beaks and Feathers Tour to Ulva Island which we would highly recommend. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the island, the birds and trees.
