How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We stayed in a twin. The only complaint is that the single beds could be bigger.
We're really pleased we booked Hotel Imlauer. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the location was convenient for all attractions and transport.

Lack of main Italian TV channels (please set Rai1, Rai2, Rai3, Rete4, Canale5, Italia1 instead of the secondary RAI channels and the local channels displayed). Shower slippery floor can become dangerous
Nice staff at reception as well as at breakfast. Comfortable room with kettle and tea/coffee facilities. Good room soundproofing. Rich breakfast but with a too small choice of croissants/viennoiseries in my opinion.

Would have liked a little atmosphere in bar in evening.
Twin Roomgois size. Comfy beds. Hairdryer 👍. continental breakfast good. Reception booked train tickets. Very easy location to U trains and easy to get from airport.

The only problem we had at this hotel is that the air conditioning was not working and the weather was unusually warm during our stay. Consequently we had trouble sleeping and the receptionist told us the lighter blankets were not available. Unfortunate!
The staff was exceptional!

While there was a smart TV in the room, the Netflix app was not available at all times. Another thing was the room temperature the last day. It was really hot. I had to use the air condition to balance the situation.
The location is perfect. Everything a tourist might need is within 50-200 meters away from the hotel. The access to public transport is easy. The area has friendly neighborhood vibes. The hotel might not be close to an important museum or a historical landmark but with public transport most of them are less than 20 minutes away. The staff was polite, professional and helpful. The breakfast area is nice. There was also some good variety in breakfast but I limited my food options to what I already knew. The room was clean and spacious.

I have only good things to say about this hotel. The location is great ( it's a very quiet neighborhood but with a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops as well as being near two metro stops), the room was extremely clean and the staff go over and beyond to be helpful. I would certainly recommend it.

Front desk staff are very capable, knowledgeable, professional, efficient. Could smile a little more.
Great location near Nestroyplatz U1 station and Taborstrasse S1 & S2 tram stations, so easy transit from Vienna Hbf and out to tourist activites, and to U2 then Praterstern train to VIE airport. Walking distance to Karmelitaplatz for breakfast. Room spacious, modern, very comfortable king bed, fresh air on/from balcony. Combined efficiency with feeling of luxury. Used the sauna and its related facilities --- very good.

We live on the top floor, thus part of the room ceiling is sloped and we have to bend over in order to get on or off on one side of the bed
Location is really good, have multiple public transportation stops nearby. The breakfast is wonderful, one of the best hotel breakfast I have ever had.

The breakfast selection other than that is was lovely
The breakfast selection was poor No toast no beans or tomatoes or fried eggs or mushrooms or omelette there was scrambled eggs cooked meat and cheeses The fruit was apple or melon every day I would stay in the hotel again but would not book breakfast at 25euro pp

The breakfast wasn’t the best we have had on our trip.
The friendly reception staff the size of the room which was well appointed with a coffee machine and a fridge. The location a short 15 minute walk into the centre of town yet still easy to access by car. The secure parking, which is small so book your spot early.
