I struggle with mattress protectors that don't breathe. I know they are there for a reason and I should have checked beforehand. Purely a personal quibble.

A great welcome to a hotel of character. The room was very comfortable and attractive. Lovely little 'extras' that made it a treat. Breakfast was good quality with lots of choice. The breakfast server was attentive. No fridge or kettle in the bedroom with the provision of hot and cold drinks in a special guest lounge. Just something to be sure you are aware of.

The hotel staff prepared a romantic surprise for our honeymoon. We both thoroughly enjoyed the service and our time together at Josefine. The receptionists were very kind, helpful, and responsive. We would love to return to Vienna and stay at Josefine again.

Nothing really. Smaller than average rooms but still okay. There’s a curtain to separate the room from the bathroom so if you’re two friends, be aware, for couples it was fine.

Interesting 1920’s style theme. Cozy and charming. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Very elegant. The music playlist and bottle of wine in the room were a great touch.

This mother daughter trip was amazing. The staff at Hotel Josefine were exceptional. They seemed genuinely proud of their unique hotel and happy to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Both the room and the hotel decor itself has such a quirky vibe, it feels really special - definitely not a copy and paste type of place. Also it is spotlessly clean everywhere. The ensuite was really unique, with a sliding door on toilet/shower area. It took me a while to realize the door could slide! The sink had a double mirror which is handy as one could be using the sink while the other applied make-up. Initially the area seemed to have a lot of graffiti and I worried I would feel unsafe at night walking home. I felt completely safe, even after dark walking home up to 12MN. I wasn't out later than that. Everywhere we wanted to go was within a half hour walk - national library, museum of natural History, Raimund Theatre, shopping with my daughter - location worked great for us.

Only thing missing was a small fridge in the room to keep your drinks cold during hot summer season.

I loved the place. First, the stuff were exceptionally nice and helpful; second, the atmosphere, the design, interiors, the wonderful breakfast and all service were above any expectations... And third, the place lies in a very sympathetic location, the entertainments of which we also enjoyed very much – and thanks to the amazing check-in and check-out time, as well as the hours when breakfast is available, we didn't need to stress about anything.

Two minor issues that could be improved. 1) We ordered breakfast in the room. The food was delicious but there was not enough space in the small table in the room to put the plates that were delivered. Having breakfast delivered in a small cart that could be left in the room while the food is consumed would be very helpful. 2) Having a few more options for room service outside breakfast hours would be a plus.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful. We would definitely stay there again. The bar at the hotel is amazing, great cocktails.

Hotel has old world charm the minute you walk in the door, we had a warm welcome to the hotel and Vienna. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. This hotel is a hidden gem.

The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located with many shops, restaurants and attractions close-by. The staff was really friendly and gave us a bottle of wine on arrival. They had even left a lovely hand-written note in the room, welcoming us. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and room service was available. I was happily surprised that even their hairdryers worked very well (a rare find at most hotels!). I cannot reccommend this hotel enough! It was a thought-through and luxurious experience from start to finish.

Everything was amazing

As my partner said—and I completely agree—this is the best hotel we've ever stayed at. From the moment we were greeted by Julia, we felt so welcomed and genuinely cared for. Everyone at Josefine was incredibly friendly and helpful—huge respect and thank you! The interior is super chic and thoughtfully designed, with attention to every detail. They left us a welcome card in the room, a bottle of wine to enjoy, stylish robes, and even a beautifully designed notebook with info and space to write in, which we got to take home! 🤍 Breakfast is à la carte, which really adds to the whole boutique experience, and it’s totally worth it. Everyone working breakfast was lovely, and the food was top quality. My partner and I LOVED this hotel and won’t be staying anywhere else when we come back to Vienna. No surprise they made it into the Michelin guide!

Only minor things: e.g. one day I asked for extra towels, but that was ignored/forgotten.

Lovely, moody decor hearkening back to the 1920s with finishing touches like working old timey rotating dial phones. The onsite bar does good cocktails. The location is also great, 2 mins from the Zeiglergasse U-Bahn stop. Plus, there’s a complimentary bottle of wine in every room.

The details were incredible, the style is very maximalist art deco, but they have executed it in such a classy way. The room was so luxurious and comfortable! We were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine and sparkling water which was so lovely, especially for the price point. Would recommend to anyone staying in Vienna due to its amazing central location, lovely staff and beautiful/ thoughtful amenities.
