Grande Vue is in the most perfect location, such a quick walk to Salamanca and it’s just beautiful to walk around Battery Point. The view was beautiful and the apartment was so clean and cosy, it felt so comfortable. Loved everything about it!

It is not just a stay here, it’s truly an experience! You can really feel the love in what has been created in every detail at Grande Vue Hotel from the furnishings in every stunning room, the amazing views, the heritage, the beautiful soft music, the lovely gardens, the peacefulness, the generous hospitality, and the divine breakfasts and afternoon tea. The location is superb too, an easy walk to Salamanca and Franklin Wharf. My first time in Hobart would not have been as wonderful as it was had I not stayed here.

Beautifully appointed rooms throughout with stunning collection of furniture and artworks. Even kitchen area was styled beautifully. Very attentive staff (especially Ricardo) who remembered our coffee order from day to day, and readily helped with bags, parking permit etc. Lovely view from our (huge) bedroom. Simple but delicious continental breakfast with local artisanal muesli, preserves and breads . Also lovely home baking and fruit offered every afternoon. Yum!

Nothing to complain about

This place is a paradise. Once we opened the door and till the moment we closed it behind us. Light touch of jazz in the air, amazing views in every window, coziness and cleanliness. We spent all our time exploring the island and came back to our hotel to spend time in the room (I think it was the best room in the hotel and special thanks for that!), in the lobby, in the hall, on the lawn behind the hotel. Every place was just magical. Fully equipped kitchen, tasty continental breakfast and exquisite cake everyday during the day. Quick stable internet and any place in the hotel.

There was nothing we didn't like. Our stay was perfect.

We loved the elegance of the period decor and the attention to detail. The sound proof rooms made it easy to sleep. Breakfast inclusion was appreciated and the welcome biscuits were a lovely touch. Ricardo was lovely and showed us through the property. He was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay at the Grande Vue Hotel again and we have already recommended it to our friends.

The rooms are beautiful. Beautiful views from both the common areas and the bedrooms. The location is also stellar, only a 10 minute walk using the Kelly stairs down to Salamanca Markets and more. A wonderful little neighbourhood and a wonderful hotel staff that make you feel so welcomed.

The Grande Vue is a beautiful place to stay! Lovely well appointed rooms. Amazing location. And what a surprise to find homemade treats left each night in the kitchen! The pecan pie was delicious! All rooms very private from each other. Beautiful artwork and collectables adorn the halls, bedrooms and entry.

We were well pampered by the host in this private hotel. It is beautiful and with class. We have met other occupants at the breakfast table and we had very enjoyable conversations. I will definitely stay there again. Can’t wait!

All perfect.

Ash and Brock made us feel right at home and pretty spoilt at the same time. First impressions: we were in awe, it is grand and beautiful, yet warm and inviting. Our suite had phenomenal views where we loved watching the weather or an ocean liner making its way to the harbour. The bed was soft yet supportive, perfect! Other options besides the quilt were in the cupboard. Fresh air, you can open the windows! Great mini kitchen in our room plus access to the main kitchen downstairs (especially to check out the freshly baked afternoon tea which also smelt wonderful while it was cooking) Strong, hot shower. Very quiet, completely dark with the heavy curtains drawn. No barking dogs or traffic noise at all. It is an intimate hotel, yet you feel completely private and unable to hear neighbouring guests. However we did enjoy chatting to them at the long dining table in the morning (You can choose to have breakfast delivered to your room as well). Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Luggage is taken upstairs for you or out to the car. We would stay again in a heartbeat, thank you Ash and Brock.

Amazing views from our bedroom 3. In historic neighbourhood and lovely to walk around with a few local cafes, a pub and an enjoyable Italian restaurant. Facilities great. Really homely and comfortable. Good healthy breakfast. Ricardo went out of his way to be helpful when we had a request. Really can’t say enough good things about this place.
