How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old town, making it very convenient to access everything. However, being in the center of downtown, street noise in the evening can be an issue. I wish the hotel had better soundproof windows to block out the noise.

Very efficient quiet and great location. Bed was uncomfortable for me but I’m a princess and the pea. Dinner next door was delicious and so authentic, especially for tourist side of town. So clean! Just very great stay especially for Zurich!

Restroom showers was basically unusable do to the shower head location-located in middle of bath tub…why would someone put a shower head in the middle of the tub or wall, you can’t get under the water stream without shooting water in the floor

1. The hotel is a bit old and humid. Not feeling that clean. 2. The restroom is easily flooded after someone showered, because there's only a curtain to avoid water from the shower area.
1. The breakfast is simple but enough. 2. Its near a popular area that is surrounded by restaurants. 3. They offer free sparkling water and beer in the fridge in the room.

Although tea and coffee were readily available in the reception it was frustrating not having these facilities in my room, which would have prevented making numerous trips downstairs to make myself a hot drink and carrying hot drinks back to the room.
The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and informative. One staff member assisted me to plan my return trip to the airport using the train system and printed out details of time and platforms.

Although located in a great spot, the neighbourhood was quite noisy and there was absolutely no soundproofing in the hotel. Every morning at around 6 AM there were loud street cleaners just outside the window of the hotel room, waking me up every time. Also within the hotel it was quite loud, all sounds and noise from the corridors and other rooms of the hotel were audible from my hotel room. There was also a big street food and music festival going on in the neighbourhood during part of my stay, and this was not communicated or notified in any way when booking the hotel. One of the stages for the festival was directly under my hotel room window so during one day and evening, I could not even watch tv in the hotel room since the noise coming from the festival was so loud that I could not hear the tv.
The location in the old town neighbourhood was very nice, close to restaurants and bars.

The room was small. Clean efficient but small. I banged my shin into the bed and it still hurts.!?!
Excellent location - right in the heart of the tourist area for dining etc. Despite that, our room was exceptionally quiet! The hotel staff was excellent, especially the woman (Ronah?) who checked us in and helped us as we were departing and looking for a lost wallet… I also liked the few small perks: coffee 24/7, apples, a beer or water in the room upon your arrival. Breakfast was excellent!!

It was very difficult to reach by car. As the GPS kept directing us to a road that we could not turn down as it was not a road to vehicles. We eventually just drove up this section of road and found the hotel after many attempts of driving around the city in heavy traffic. Not a pleasant experience.
The breakfast was nice and staff friendly and helpful.

Could use an update. Shower is small. Towels are a bit rough and small. It is on a busy street and can be very noisy at night. They do supply earplugs but I could not sleep with them in my ears
Staff is very good and helpful. Location is quite good if you want to walkabout. Hotel is clean.
