The prostitutes leased half of the building a block away, however, you can see or interact with them only after dark, when you park in the underground garage.

The property is located in the center of the old town, which has its advantages and disadvantages. Too crowded and the prostitutes are occupying half of the building block away, however, you can see them only after dark when you are parking in the hotel’s rented underground parking garage. The other side of the river was much better. Next time, I would stay there. However, they served a pretty decent breakfast and the staff were always helpful. Overall the Switzerland is a must-see and must-visit country. And you forget about any disadvantages after walking in nature.

Room air conditioner did not work except on the 4th night.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The hotel is ideally placed with access to eating places, shops and the central railway station.Magic Mark was amazingly friendly and welcoming and extremely helpful in responding to all our requests. He is a great asset to Hotel Alexander!

I wish the minibar had some snacks in it, instead of 6 drinks for one person staying one night I wish I had a way to make myself coffee inside the room. I like to drink a coffee first thing in the morning

The location was good overall, not far from the train station and a block away from the lake.

We did not like extremely disturbing noise continuing well after midnight like drunken yelling, very loud people on the street. It all raised questions about safety of the surrounding area. At some point I was ready to go to reception to ask for the police to come and restore the order on the street. But decided not to be involved as we were staying only 3 nights.

Our room has no coffee and tea facilities but you can have a coffee machine in the reception for free.

I like the location close to the main train station and close to the public transportation like tram. Very close to everything, public restaurants amd shops.

The lady who was at the reception desk was rude when I asked her directions to the Bachmann confectionery. I asked her nicely to write down the name of the street and the famous Swedish torte. She looked at me with exasperation and uttered some words that I did not understand. What a stark contrast with the 2 gentlemen who also work at the reception desk.

Room was small but was enough for 2 people. There were 2 separate twin beds which I requested and room was very clean. Room was available before check-in time which allowed us to relax after a long train ride. Great location as walking distance from train station and city center. 2 gentlemen at the reception desks were very helpful when we asked directions. They were patient and cheerful every time we asked for directions to different places we would like to go. Breakfast was delicious with lot of options. Ladies who were manning the breakfast area were so nice and efficient in maintaining the tables clean and food well supplied. One lady who was cleaning the breakfast area in the afternoon lent us some utensils so we can eat our take-away restaurant food. She just asked us to return them in the morning or leave them in our room.

Hotel looks run down. Our room was small and faced the front so it was a little noisy.

The location was great. Easy to walk around the Altstadt from there. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was OK.

Small room in the 1 floor with the view to the back yard, near the ventilation of the kitchen, so the window could not be opened. The extra large bed would have to be more comfortable.

Excellent location.! The room was small as well as the bathroom, but clean. The breakfast was OK, in a cosy atmosphere. Very friendly staff!

No complaints at all!

In the heart of Zurich's atmospheric Old Town. A smallish and simply furnished room, but with many thoughtful details that made it a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Although a single room, the bed was comfortable and a very generous size. Plug sockets for various countrys' plug types are built in (including UK). I had requested a kettle in the room, and found it waiting for me there. Some complementary drinks are provided in the mini-fridge, and free self-service tea/coffee is provided in the entrance foyer at any time. Inclusive breakfast was standard fare and of very decent quality. Would be very happy to return and recommend.

Good value! The hotel's location was excellent, close to the train station, within a few minutes by walking. There are also a lot of nearby restaurants.
