How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The bathroom sink was extremely small, and the shower base was probably the most slippery I have ever experienced, I would say deadly in fact. There was no iron & ironing board in the room, which seems to be standard in Switzerland, even for 4 and 5 start hotels.
I recently stayed at the Swissôtel Kursaal Bern and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The hotel is perfectly situated, just a short walk from Bern’s charming Old Town and major attractions like the Zytglogge and the Bear Park. The location makes it an excellent base for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel itself is modern and stylish, with a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step into the lobby. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and featured contemporary decor with thoughtful touches. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the high-quality linens and amenities, including a Nespresso machine and a well-designed workspace. The views over the city from my window and small balcony were a wonderful bonus. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, local options. The staff at Swissôtel Kursaal Bern were outstanding—friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with recommendations or special requests. Check-in and check-out were efficient and hassle-free. Overall, Swissôtel Kursaal Bern met my expectations. It combines modern luxury with Swiss hospitality, making it a top choice for anyone visiting Bern. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of elegance in the Swiss capital.

The only way this hotel could improve would be to have some sort of swimming pool/spa area. Not a criticism just a suggestion.
Everything. A modern and clean hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nice outdoor area for seating and dining. Good location nestled above Bern. Not too much of a walk from the main train station and old town area.

Beware! No where in the description did it say the room we were booking faced an interior wall!! It’s horrible! It was dark & literally all you saw was an interior wall, this should be clear in the description! Restaurant was too expensive & if you have trouble walking there would be absolutely nothing around there to see. Not the best location.
After we asked for a different room which they charged us extra, we had a great view of the mountains, the room had all the amenities we could need.

We had a great reception by Tara, and with her enthusiasm and fun she makes everyone smile. Fantastic spacious room (4th level) with a marvelous view on Bern and the white mountains, great garden for drinks and just crossing the bridge to city center. All together one great experience!!

The bathroom was set up oddly. Why a window between the bedroom and bath? The shower setup pretty much guaranteed you would get doused with cold water when trying to turn it on. And the lighting at the sink was terrible (too dark)

Room was a bit small. Very little natural light, since the room look on the internal hall. Comfy bed but pillows are basically non existent.
Great location, just across the bridge from the center of the old town. Modern building, nice restaurant, beautiful garden space outside for enjoying a drink. Room was well equipped with coffee machine, some supplies and free minibar with water, drinks and beer.
