Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesStaff was very friendly and kind & the room was not only clean, but larger than expected. The bathroom was ample (with a tub & not just a shower) and the bedroom area had a desk, shelves, and enough space to put luggage. The location is great - essentially right across the street from the train station.

MexicoThe room was OK. No complaints but nothing extraordinary.
Location is perfect. Easy to get to from the main train station and located in the Central tram/bus area. Also next to the Polybahn that goes up to ETH. And located at the beginning of Niederdorfstrasse. At the hotel I liked that they had a complimentary coffee/tea area next to the reception and one could take up cups or even thermos.

United StatesThe issue was not having AC in the summer. The room was stifling hot, even with the windows open. Not the hotel's fault, but there was construction (jack hammering) occurring throughout the night into the morning. It was a night to forget, as no one got sleep.
Check in was smooth and location was perfect. No complaints there. The price is reasonable as well, especially given the location.

AustraliaNo air conditioning anywhere in the hotel, including the restaurant. Given we were in the middle of a heatwave, this made the hotel room close to unbearable until early morning when temperatures dropped and you could open your window fully to get the cooler night air. The hotel supplied fans for each room but it was still an uncomfortable night due to the trapped heat in the hotel room. The hot weather was obviously not the hotels fault but we were surprised to find the hotel had no air conditioning at all. The only other thing we didn't really like was having the side of the bed against a wall.
The hotel was in a good location in relation to the train station in Zurich, which was very handy. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy and the staff were excellent. Check in and check out was easy and fast. The restaurant at the bottom of the hotel was really nice, very Swiss in ambience and the food was plentiful and excellent. Good value for money hotel.

ThailandGuests should be aware that this appears to be an older, historic hotel, and with that comes certain characteristics. The rooms are not very large and can feel quite narrow, which is somewhat expected for such a prime location. There is no air conditioning, though a fan was provided in the room; we were lucky that the weather was cool during our stay, but this could be a significant factor in warmer months. To access the elevator, you must first carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. However, you can ask the staff to open a back door for step-free access, which requires a short walk around the corner of the building.
The location of Hotel Limmathof is its greatest asset, making it a very convenient choice. It is situated extremely close to the main train station, which makes arriving and departing effortless. We also appreciated that it was not far from a Coop supermarket for any necessities, and being right next to the Polybahn funicular was a real treat, offering a charming way to go up for a lovely view of the city. The hotel has an elevator, and we found the breakfast to be perfectly okay, providing a decent start to our day.

United StatesThe front entrance had a lot of steps with no one to help with the bags. The room was really small and there was no air conditioning-just a fan. I would not recommend it for older travelers.
The location was right next to the funicular that everyone recommended. It was also right around the corner from a pedestrian street with shops and restaurants.

ThailandThe rooms for our 2nd stay are not so clean, noisy. The windows are broken and cannot be opened. We left our luggages at the hotel for 2 nights when we went to Chur and we would come back to stay another 1 night at this hotel. There is no standard price for luggage storage. First lady on check in date said 20 chf for 4 bags. Other lady on check out date said 80 chf. But after negotiated, we paid 40 chf.
Location is good, near train station and attraction places. Many restaurants near hotel. Good staffs and there are coffee and tea at ground floor, free for guest.

United StatesIt was very hot in our room so we had to leave the windows open overnight and unfortunately there was ongoing construction right outside our window until 4am preventing sleep. We don’t fault the hotel for this, just note that the rooms are hot. They do provide a fan which was very helpful

United KingdomThe bathroom was particularly small and dated though still very clean.
The location of this hotel is excellent as very close to the train station and right in the city centre. It is a basic hotel but very clean and functional. I asked for twin beds and they were very comfortable. The only thing missing was air conditioning but there was a large fan which worked well and kept us cool. The staff were nice and friendly.

CanadaThere was no air conditioning in the rooms. For most of the year, that is not an issue, but for the summer it can make the rooms and the hotel stuffy.
The location is amazing! Tram, trains and other public transport options were right outside the hotel's front door. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! The water pressure is great and the bathroom is a good size.
