Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyMore central is barely possible. Hotel is directly at the beginning of the old town and everything is easily available by walking.

United Statesno elevator for carrying the luggage to the 2d and third floors, although this was understandable, as it is an Unesco site as one of the oldest houses in the region
Excellent location, easy access to public transportation, busses etc, free with hotel code. we rented four rooms for 10 people, 3 times two and a family room for four, the latter being exceptionally nice with sitting room and little kitchen

CanadaHallways look a little worn.
I walked from the train station - about 900m - all under cover along the central street heritage shopping district. Nydeck is at the end of that - ie convenient. Very helpful getting me oriented to the transit system. The hotel is near a spectacular bridge over the Aare R. and lovely walks along it. Everything is close by. Room was clean and overlooked the river.

United Statessingle room was cramped. i booked for one person but there were two twin beds in the room taking up all the space. There was a desk, but a bed was in the way you couldn’t sit at it. i needed to do some computer work during my stay so this was inconvenient. it’s so much nicer when a single room is really a single room! also there was a coffee maker in the room but no way to make tea. A nice person at the desk loaned me an electric kettle for my stay, but I just had to have it sort of awkwardly on the floor. It looked like the double rooms were more conveniently set up.
location is great. central but not loud.

Beautiful heritage style building, loads of character, easy access to public buses which run every few minutes and are free during your stay in Bern. The staff Ikram and Mike highly personable…so so helpful. Thank you. I more than enjoyed my 4N stay at your property and if I was re visiting Bern I would definitely stay again 😁

BelgiumThere is no elevator, and the stairs are a bit steep. As noted above, room was a bit old and faded but functional and good for a short stay.
This is a super location in the nicest part of the old centre of Bern. It's absolutely "spot on", a little stroll across the bridge from where the famous bears are. It's family-run, enthusiastic young people. Nice restaurant and bar on ground floor. For the money, in this location and including breakfast, it's super good value. Don't expect great luxury - it's a bit old and tired but generally well-kept. They are planning renovation in the coming years.

NetherlandsI did not like that the reception desk was often empty, probably due to the Christmas season and being short-staffed. Additionally, the area near the reception is very small. If someone is waiting to check in, it can be difficult for others to enter or move around. There is no elevator inside, and the stairs can be intimidating, typical in old cities like Bern. This can make it challenging for elderly individuals or those carrying heavy luggage.
It is a bit far from the main station, but the bus station is very close to the hotel. The room was good, but I expected it to be a bit bigger. Breakfast was okay, just the usual. I really liked the colorful eggs.
