How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Reception staff.
The man in reception didn't even say Hi when we walked in. Staff talking amongst themselves and ignoring customers. Weird behaviour. Breakfast good.

Note that this hotel has two self-check-in machines in order to get your room key, and one is outside the hotel itself (the other is inside a very tight reception area). This is not exactly ideal if you’ve arrived late at night on your own or if it is raining, as you do have to stand outside at the machine for several minutes.
This hotel worked perfectly fine for our 1 night in Zurich after arriving on a long flight and departing the next morning on our Swiss adventures. It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station on the other side of the river, but very close to the main tourist area with all the restaurants, churches, etc. This was one of the few hotels on our trip where the sink was in the bathroom behind a closed door – a fact I always appreciate since I get up much earlier than my husband to shower and get ready. The bathroom was a good size and I loved the backlit mirror and separate magnified makeup mirror. I would recommend this hotel as a base for exploring Zurich. It is fun and thematic (the bedside tables looked like stacked chocolate bars and so did the room number on the door), and everything was modern and clean.

Greeted rudely by a male staff that was ready to go home and not helpful when arrived slightly earlier than check in time.

At the entrance there is no ramp for suitcases . After a long flight with your family be prepared. The rooms and corridors are carpeted. These areas require an upgrade.
Location is perfect. Close to shops, cafes, trams, sites and main train station.Breakfast is quite good. The lift is quite efficient.

Unfortunately there were not enough pillows, only 1 very very soft one and there are no plug sockets near the mirror! Plan the rooms better and maybe women can do their hair a bit better, added a lot of stress to my morning routine

Would prefer a walk in shower. Tub was high and awkward to get in and out of. Anyone with mobility issues would not be comfortable here. One one luggage stand built in, could use a portable one for a second suitcase.
Amazing windows to keep out the street noise. Good location near the train station and old town. Comfortable room with fridge and coffee/tea making supplies. Hotel had an interesting decor in room and hallways - well done chocolate theme.

It would be nice if the separate beds were at a distance from each other and not joined together.
Fantastic location in the old town near Zurich HB. Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Very well equipped, cosy and clean rooms. The interior decorated in chocolate theme. Really fast and stable internet connection.

Rooms are very small if you have large suitcases it is problem. Difficulty in moving around the bed - space too small in room 304. Bath with shower in it is too high for older people. Difficult to get in and out, especially when it is wet. Can easily slip and fall.
Location good. Room is modern and new.

Arrived at the hotel early and were allowed to check-in ahead of schedule and start our sightseeing in Zurich! Hotel staff also directed us to parking that saved a considerable amount.
