The staff didn't clean our room well on the second day. The garbage can in the bathroom was not emptied, and they only folded the quilt on one bed; the other bed wasn't made. I don't like the pillows, but it seems like they are standard in Switzerland, as we had the same type in our next hotel.

The bed is nice. And the staff kindly help us to solve the problems.

the hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. on your last day, with very early check out, they packed breakfast for us to bring along and eat on our way. it is conveniently located near the station and it is very easy to go to different places plus the view every day of the mountain is spectacular. This hotel is highly recommended.

No elevator, but we knew this when booking. So take this into account and pack accordingly!

The location is perfect. At the heart of Grindelwald, walking distance to the train station and Grindelwald First gondola station. Upon check in you’ll get a voucher for discounts on the gondola rides. The room is quite spacious for two and has a balcony with breathtaking views of the Eiger. Central heating was available. No AC, so take that into account for summer months. Breakfast was good with plenty of breads, jams, butter, sorts of hams and one boiled egg per person.

The owners are sweet and warm couples. They take care of the business and prepare breakfast for guests by themselves.

Hotel Tschuggen is a perfectly located, comfortable hotel right in the heart of Grindelwald, close to the lifts and with excellent hosts. The breakfast each morning is superb (I would always keep a roll for a mid-morning ski snack), and the hosts are friendly, helpful and welcoming. It is definitely a good spot to stay for a ski trip. I note a few reviews saying the hotel was a bit simplistic/dated, which I think are too harsh; the hotel is advertised as 2* and Grindelwald is extremely expensive, and this hotel offers excellent value for money for those seeking to visit the resort without the budget for the ultra boutique hotels.

It had no shampoo or conditioner.

It was only a few min from the train station and had bus connection to the sky resorts. It had a skiroom with heated Bootstand. The room was simple and clean. The Breakfast was basic but sufficient.

The breakfast was excellent, nice room to keep the ski equipment, the location in the very heart of Grindelwald and very close to the First ski lift. Staff was very helpful, attentive and friendly.

This hotel does not have the features found in larger, "modern" hotels (e.g., elevator), but the old-fashioned attention to detail, the courtesy of the owners, and the atmosphere of a chalet-style inn made a stay here all the more memorable.

The members of family that run this hotel are very gracious, helpful hosts; they helped me carry my luggage to the upper stories. We chose an upgrade room that had a spectacular view of the Eiger, the Lütschine valley, and the Kleine Scheidegg region. The bed was comfortable; the room and private bathroom met our needs. There were convenient outlets by the nightstands for cell-phone and electronic re-charging. (It is always a good idea to bring your own adaptor to fit the Swiss outlet.) The breakfast was very good with breads & jams, Müesli, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, local cheeses, meats, coffee & tea, and orange juice, served in a cosy breakfast room with other hotel guests, giving us a chance to exchange experiences with them--the advantage of a smaller, traditional establishment. We came by car and on-site parking was free.

Our room was spacious and had a balcony which was lovely to sit on in the afternoons. The views of the mountains was spectacular! There was plenty of closet space and there was an ante room that was perfect for storing boots and coats etc. Adjacent to the hotel there is a "ski cave" for storage of ski equipment. It even had a large boot heater on one wall for overnight storage of ski boots. The location of the hotel is right on main street and very convenient. Our room was on the back on the hotel and was very quiet. The staff were friendly and accomodating.
