Very friendly staff! When we left early in the morning to catch our flight the owner got up and gave us some fruits to take with us. Dinner was great!

The toilet it’s quite small and when we take shower the entire bathroom gets wet. The entrance to the Hostel it’s not attractive and the cleanest. It’s more beautiful at the balcony. TIP: even if Guilin is a nice place, it’s just to stay 1 or 2 nights. Then take the Ferry to Yangshuo and stay there for 3 nights. And from there you can find always people going to Longshen Rice Terraces to go directly with locals. And you should stay at the Terraces at least 3 days. Don’t stay in Guilin and just go for day trips to this places as you will miss the best experience in this China region.

Having David, the owner, as a support, in my first impact in China, was really comfortable. He speaks perfect English and it’s always ready to help. And he has patience for all our questions. The Hostel is about 30 minutes walking from the principal Guilin attractions, and from the city center, and close to the train station. The room was nice with river view. I slept well.

The hostel is really good. You have everything that you need . David is always avaliable for answer all your questions and help you to book for around trips. You have also a bar downstairs and a restaurant . Highly recommanded to try the homemade dumplings and the draft beer 😎

Location is awesome, close to the main harbor and main venues, everything reachable by feet. The staff is extremely careful and always available to support you in any manner, also an enjoyble company over the evenings. Definitely recommended !

This was my first stop in China and it was perfect. Located in a quiet part of town within easy walking distance to the train station and the downtown sites. The hotel is very peaceful with nice views over the river. David is exceptionally welcoming and helped me with directions, setting up a local sim and with a map of sites to see in town.

We stayed for two days in Guilin before going to Yangshuo. However, after being in this hotel for the two days, we immediately decided to come back for another night. David (the owner) was amazing: he wrote to me asking if we needed a taxi from the airport. He welcomed us warmly and also explained what we could do in Guilin. In addition to that, he also arranged for us a trip on the ferry boat on the Li River and accompanied us in the morning to catch the bus. The structure was amazing as well. The room had an amazing view on the river and it was clean and large. The bed was super comfy as well. The highlight though was the bar inside the structure. They serve the most amazing beer and you get to meet and share stories with whoever is staying in the hotel with you. We got the chance to meet people from all over the world and we enjoyed the two nights drinking beer and chatting away. I honestly plan to go back again one day just to enjoy the familiar atmosphere that David is able to create!

Our stay at Lakeside Inn was really wonderful. It all started with the host, David, who is very hospitable and helpful. He helped us to book a river cruise, and gave so many good recommendations on what to do in Guilin. The room was comfortable enough at a good price and with a fantastic view of the river! We also had lunch at the garden restaurant downstairs. We requested vegan food and they made it so delicious. Thank you, David, we enjoyed our stay!

Lovely terrace, owner spoke good english and was very helpful and attentive, i was even invited to join his friends for dinner one night. The food was delicious and biiig portions.

The room was quite humble but the place is definitely worth your money. It is near to the center and the staff is really nice, they helped us organise our trips. Moreover, the food is really good and the place offers a big patio where you can enjoy your breakfast by the river.

I stayed for one night but would have stayed longer if I had the time. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The view of the river is nice. The host is super friendly and helped me book a ticket for the Li River cruise to Yangshuo. He also gave me some fruit for on the way. Would stay again.

Wifi is a bit unstable. Mattress of first bedroom was too hard.

Convenient and very affordable in Guilin. We booked a family room (mattress was too hard) and changed to another one (much better and very comfortable). Both had views on the river. Very convenient to walk to city centre and inner city train station.

The room itself is clean and has nice view but there are obvious signs of tear and wear. Walls are thin, i could hear my upper neighbors through the night. Sometimes we had language difficulties with David but everything worked out okay.

David is an amazing host, upon arrival he gave me quick itinerary to optimize sightseeing. He also booked a nice Li River trip for me with pickup and supported through the trip. Inn is 30 min walk from downtown, there are many groceries and restaurants in the neighborhood.

The inn is very close to the South Guilin railway station, only a 10 minute walk. David, the landlord, is very knowledgeable of Guilin and can help with day tours. His English is good. He makes you feel at home. They make great food and have a well stocked bar with local and international beers
