Peaceful and gracious living on the Mountain

Something that was challenging at first was that you have to take a park shuttle bus to get there and you have to tell the bus driver where to let you off since it is not one of the usual stops. But once we had a picture of our shuttle stop it was easy. Once you get off, expect to talk a quarter mile down a stone paved trail to get to the manor. It is so worth it!

We absolutely loved the Manju Manor! It was our favorite stay of our whole trip. The location is in the country and it is so quiet and peaceful. It is surrounded by vegetable gardens, fruit trees and rows of tea. I saw more birds here than anywhere else in China. The rooms are beautifully furnished with tatami mats, fold out futons, a small tea drinking area, and the bathroom has luxe features like a bidet. Outside there are plenty of places to sit or walk around and enjoy the mountain air. The staff speaks English and are very helpful and nice. They also have a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine on staff who can give you an evaluation and treatment, and who can also teach Taiji. Finally, their cook makes all the food from their own organically grown vegetables. It is delicious, wholesome, and beautifully presented.

    Everything was perfect!

The property is beautifully located within the heart of the mountain. Surrounded by tea fields and forest. The property has a large koi pond with fountain and landscaped gardens that are very well maintained. The sleeping quarters are traditional with a modern twist. Very upscale and luxurious. We enjoyed the common area to have our morning espresso and latte that was made perfectly and in the evening we had wine from their expansive collection of vintage wines. The included breakfast was just what we needed, light yet a fully cooked meal and dinner was different each night from fresh fish to roast duck and a variety of vegetables and soups.
