Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe tiny window felt a bit claustrophobic and the noise entered the room very easily. Impossible to ventilate the room without opening the door. The room was also very tiny not meeting the expectations/pictures and there was no place whatsoever to store clothes or anything else.
We loved the location and found the place to be overall good value for money. The location is very safe and rooms clean. Small little shared kitchen is also available with free coffee and outdoor seating. They stored our luggages for no additional cost and all staff was super friendly.

United StatesNo air conditioning despite listing on the property page ("available for additional charge", but no A/C, paid or otherwise). We were offered an additional fan and outdoor air is mild if it's late enough. Andres provided information on laundry and card payments that his staff weren't aware of--policies are inconsistent or poorly communicated to staff. Laundry was not returned until the third day, despite morning drop-off promised with delivery to room by end of day; we had to search for it so that we could pack the morning of checkout: Day 1 morning: Laundry was dropped off; when asked about pick-up time, Andres mentioned it would be delivered to the room by our return in the evening. Day 1 evening: Upon returning late, no laundry was found in the room as promised. Day 2 morning: Asked about laundry, was told it needed to be folded and would be returned in a basket that night. Day 2 evening: Upon our return, we inquired the laundry's status at reception, but they had no information and couldn't locate it. Day 3 morning (checkout): Still no cleaned clothes and trying to pack for departure; luckily we found the laundry attendant who knew where the clothes were stored. Andres provided a business card with a phone number and informed us that we could reach him via WhatsApp. Messages and calls sent, e.g. regarding laundry, were not acknowledged and received no response. At checkout, receptionist invoiced for double the amount quoted by Andres and needed to reach out to Andres to honor the original agreement. A corrected invoice was successfully processed. Upon arrival, we paid cash as Andres mentioned they had a card machine but it was not working. The next morning we spoke with Andres again who mentioned that the card machine was fixed. We offered to pay then but he said we could pay at checkout. At checkout, the machine worked but the receptionist had to call Andres to allow it.
Owner Andres is very friendly and responsive when directly communicating in person. Andres was very accommodating with choice of rooms. Andres was very informative about local events (e.g. Feria de las Flores) and offered a referral to other properties in the mountains if we wanted to take a day trip. Hammocks and bean bag chairs are nice amenities, although they take a while to dry out after rain. New construction/furniture, good pillows. Reasonably quiet--a few reviews had us worried; the pizza restaurant in front closes by 10pm so it wasn't a problem for us (also it's delicious). Great location walking distance to Metro and El Poblado nightlife. Excellent wifi, speeds up to 150mbps symmetric (bidirectional) Friendly dog.

United StatesI didn't like that there were some type of tiny bugs on my bed that got on me and for a few days after leaving I still felt them on me and had to wash my clothes to prevent them from getting on my things. They literally look like little dots but are actual tiny insects. Took a video but it doesn't allow video uploads on the picture it just looks like a dot.
The hostel is fine except that there were some type of bugs on my bed.

Netherlandsnoise: my window opened into the staffs laundry area so there was noise coming from early in the morning. there was also construction with debris falling on my room starting from seven am. in the room itself there was water leakage under the bathroom floor so every time is showered the floor would flood. I also came a cross a cockroach. the bed linens were passable but on the poorer side.
the staff was friendly. the kitchen was also large and clean with proper kitchen equipment compared to the other hostels I stayed at. it was nice that each room had assigned space in the fridge as well. the hostel is on a quiet street but within walking distance of the metro.

Australiait’s a serious DIY job where they’ve chosen the cheapest way to renovate an old house. the shower May as we’ll be a hose that shoots water at you. the taps also scream at you when you use them. our bunk bed was literally two beds hammered on to one another with a dodgy ladder screwed on - we put our mattresses on the floor because we felt so unsafe. walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. just think it’s not worth the money you pay for.

GermanyWe booked a Deluxe-Dbl with big bed and private bath. We were put in a small chamber with Bunk-Beds and a "private" bath that wasn't connected to the room. Definitely not what was portrayed by the pictures! As if it wouldn't be enough the sheets, towels and bath-room were disgustingly dirty,- there was (period-?) blood on the bathroom floor.

NetherlandsThe bathroom in the private room was frustrating- shower water came up under the tiles meaning they were almost floating. The seal around the toilet was broken so the room smelt like sewerage. The walls were so thin we could hear the neighbours using the bathroom and even typing on their phones. I heard from other guests in different rooms of the same issue. There were chairs outside our room where people sat to drink and smoke and the smoke came into our room, which was annoying. Not the most social hostel due to lack of good communal areas.
Good location, rooms were clean. The price was ok for El Poblado.

ArgentinaThin walls, noisy property. Uncomfortable bathroom, bed, pillows. No breakfast, not even as an optional. Property has a popular pizzeria on the front lawn - to access the property you have go through a long line of people thinking you're cutting the line for dinner. No atmosphere whatsoever - the property seems more a temporary accommodation for locals than for tourists. No info at all is provided on the city or activities or anything at all. It is like an hotel but worse. Location is not the best. El Poblado is a big place and this location is in the periphery of where the food venues are, and you absolutely must take a taxi at night, even if only for what would have been a 10-15 minute walk. You might as well stay in Envigado if you're going to need a couple of taxis every night to move around.

United KingdomI'm writing this on the 5th out of 6 days I've been woken up by construction. This time, 6.45am which is a record. It's usually 7.15am. The construction is literally 10ft away, next to the balcony. I think it's part of the same hotel, extending etc. The owner simply told me "they're not meant to start until 9am". I can assure you that's not the case and flagged it to no avail. The only day it doesn't happen is Sunday. The bed aren't doubles either, more like 1.5x singles. The pillows are pretty terrible too. The Wifi in the room is awful. I don't know why they can't provide an extender. The Wifi in the hotel is great, but in the room non existent so wasted all our 4G on our phones. They supply the biggest TV I've ever seen in a hotel room with Netflix/Amazon Prime etc and yet no internet to watch it... it worked maybe 50% of the time. TOP TIP: Open the window and doors fully and you'll get slightly better signal.
The staff were really nice and helpful. The WiFi in the main hotel is really good. The kitchen is stocked and free coffee etc, all really nice and really clean. For 30k you'll get laundry done in a day. Location is decent, still a bit outside proper El Poblado and you have to walk through a park at night.
