Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThere were over 30 pods in the room and just 2 bathrooms to share between such a large amount of people. This meant there was always a queue for the bathroom, especially in the morning. The kitchen area was dark and uninviting and my juice was stolen from the fridge. There is no lift and the staircase is steep and windy. Very noisy on the main street.
Great location right in the heart of the old town, next to bars, shops and restaurants. Beds and comfy, spacious pods with their own floor space and a bed side table/locker. Air con is very good.

IrelandCheck in wasn't very efficient, I wasn't given any information about my stay, no control over the room temperature it gets very cold at night, there are only 3 bathrooms
Lots of privacy in the area, breakfast was nice, I didn't use the jacuzzi but it looks inviting, reception helped with booking tours

United KingdomVery large communal dorms had very limited numbers of loos and showers so there were people waiting sometimes.
Option of a small pool to cool down on hot days. Dorm beds were comfortable, with sockets and lights. Lockers available for big bags. Decent location in the middle of the most active part of town and near other areas of interest. Included breakfast was basic but a nice start to the day.

United StatesThe sleeping arrangements for a double mixed dormitory were a tight squeeze for space, probably great for solo travelers but it was myself and a friend. The air circulation isn’t great at night since most people would want to have their curtains drawn when they sleep which blocks out the AC.
The staff were extremely informative about hostel rules. I will say I wish they had more recommendations about the surround area like their favorite restaurants and things to do. My friend and I were given one tour recommendation but it was a general tour with an emphasis on partying/drinking which isn’t our speed personally. The bathrooms were kept extremely clean the whole time. I only used the bathrooms so I can only speak for those facilities. I did not use the jacuzzi, kitchen, or lockers. The included breakfast is simple, eggs, toast, and fruit. It is what you get for the price (I was in the mixed dormitory, double bed, $69 USD / $342.000 COP). They have towels to buy there, $10.000 COP/towel. The sleeping arrangements for the mixed dormitory weren’t communicated as they could’ve been. The photos look like there are bunk beds and in addition the double beds which looked like, at least to me, their own separate rooms and then the bathroom photos, so I was under the impression that the double bed was its own area. If you’re in the mixed area, it’s two levels with the more private suites on the top. They’re set up as little mini rooms like shoe cubbies but with beds instead. Also the AC is GREAT but in the night, we slept with our curtain drawn which stops the air circulation so we were pretty warm each night. It’s great for solo travels or pairs like my friend and I. Location is prime, literally in the center, nothing is too far of a walk. The day we checked out, the person at the desk called us a taxi and ensured a fair price which was nice since taxi prices fluctuate depending on your level of spanish, time of day, and if you know to ask for a price first. Overall a very solid experience, only draw back was like sleeping conditions.

United KingdomThe walls in the bathroom have been covered in mastik, I don’t know if it wasn’t dry or if it needed to set but it came off on your hands and belongings and was very hard to get off… and the shower was cold although they embrace it.

United KingdomOne of the shared bathrooms was not working which obviously increased waiting times. There was a staff member who would clean the bathrooms early hours but very loudly. Playing music on one occasion. Day staff were helpful and was quieter on my last few days.
The staff are all lovely and helpful. I can't recall names but, one lady who made breakfast most mornings who always had a smile on her face made my mornings. The location is perfect, ideal for all the main locations.

United KingdomThe queues to the bathroom were very long. They only had three bathrooms (not all that was working) and a downstairs toilet. I woke up at 5 a.m., and there was still a queue as only one bathroom worked. If you wanted to shower in the morning, you had to get up extra early.
The hostel itself was very cool, allowed us to check in early, and had so many amazing facilities. The hot tub, washing service (very affordable), work spaces, and kitchen was amazing. It is so central and easy to get where you need to go. The beds were really comfortable, and the bunk beds made from storage containers made you feel as if you had your own private room rather than at a hostel.

RussiaWhen I arrived, the guy at reception didn’t look like he’s interested at showing me around or explaining where everything is. He didn’t tell me a word about breakfast so I had to figure it out myself. I was given a towel (which was clean) and a blanket that clearly hasn’t been washed after a previous guest as it was full of hair. Disgusting. Also, there are only 3 bathrooms for so many beds so often you have to wait for a long time to use one. Plus, they need to be cleaned more often.
The ladies that make breakfast are very sweet and attentive. Location is good.

ArgentinaThe kitchen area is not very good and it's right next to a glass door from the dorm beds. Not big enough for accommodate people during breakfast either. Staff billed us in dollars to our card (instead of COP without asking us). We explain the receipt from the card reader says "you were given the option to paid in COP or USD" he said he cannot chose the currency, when we complain he said we should call our bank first (which is outside the country) to see what they say to only then try to fix the problem. Every other place in the country always bills the card in COP or ask you first if you want it to be billed in USD so you can accept or not. This mistake cost us 5% loss due to the bad exchange rate they use for billing the card directly in USD. The poor attitude of the staff to try to fix the mistake and just try to blame the card reader machine, then blame our bank to just get away from dealing with the mistake make it impossible for us to fix the problem in short time and still enjoy our time in town.
The room, the common areas for resting/work on top of the kitchen (quite hidden) and the location.

CanadaStaff. Checking in I didn't get a tour or explanation of where anything was. I didn't know until leaving that they hosted tours. I also had questions about Isla Baru and she told me I could walk to the dock to negotiate a boat ride, this is not correct and there is a window you can properly buy a ticket so you don't get ripped off. I didn't choose this as someone else told me it's easier taking a shuttle there by land. I just felt she gave me the bare minimum information rather than helping me with the experience.
Really interesting and spacious capsule dorms that have everything you need. I was staying over one night and was happy they were almost like mini rooms. They also held my bags for 2 nights for 8000/night while I was away.
