Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United StatesThis “all inclusive” was really just buffet only (not good either) and get your own free drinks. No one seemed to be serving drinks, the restaurants were not included and even the pool table wasn’t free. Not to mention the many problems we had from our room not being ready to the replacement room being so moist the tile was wet and the picture frames hanging were moldy. The next room was better but still the bathroom fan, the blow dryer and the phone were broken!
The single pool was nice and the beach was beautiful (although great surf waves made it hard for swimming)

United StatesThe reception staff was unhelpful. The maintenance took at the least 5 hours to fix issue.
The staff was not helpful. Had water leaking from top of sink area and refrigerator leaking as well. Woke up to a puddle. Informed reception on morning but no response for hours. Thereafter went to check again with reception and was received with defensive attitude. I would say they were very unhelpful.

Costa RicaThere is no variety in the food, since they repeat a lot. Simple and unappetizing snacks looked stale and with flies, for international tourists who stay more than a week it is boring. The bar gives very cheap liquor and they run out of liquor or supplies several times a day so it is disappointing to pay an all-inclusive only to be told there is none. The worst of all was the terrible management of the person in charge, who treats customers badly in the lobby and does not show empathy when indicating that an item was stolen from the room. A person who does not know how to deal with customers should not have that position in a hotel that charges so much for the service he provides. I have never been treated so badly in a hotel. I have been to cheaper hotels but the service is exceptional. expensive does not mean good service

United StatesRoom was not fully complete with what we booked for, complained three times on day of arrival and no fix on day of arrival, also safe did not work, physically had to go to reception after calling them to complain and it took an hour out of our first afternoon for someone to come and reset it ! Also, could not call a la cart restaurant of our choice to make a reservation between 3 and 6 pm, had to go to reception to do so !! With a check in time of 3, can you imagine what the line is like just for folks checking in when you just want to make a dinner reservation??

United StatesDrinks were not that good and the wine was awful, when we ask for special drink or whiskey 10.00 more per drink I thought this was all inclusive, Then for coffee in the morning there were never any coffee cups to be found, you always had to find someone to get a glass or coffee cup....
The place is in a good location and the food is good quality. The staff are nice.

CanadaThe superior room was horrible! It had a foul sewage smell and there was water leaking from the vent in the ceiling which leaked on the floor. I had elderly parents staying in the room as well and the water leak created a potential hazard especially if they slipped on it. We even asked front desk to check the room and all they did was put toilet bowl cleaner in the toilet to reduce the sewage smell but that obviously didn't work. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this resort.

United StatesWish they had the bar by the beach open later and some evening music by the beach would have been nice.
Resort is very well laid out, from most rooms you don’t have to walk too far to get to the lobby, restaurant, pool or beach. We had an ADA room because my partner has mobility issues and it was perfect - nice room with safety bars and close to facilities. The staff are very accommodating, food at the buffet is great but go early before favorite items run out. It’s not a fancy resort but clean, nice pool, good food. The beach has some good surf - part of it is rocky but there is enough area to get into the water away from the rocks. The resort is only one mile from Tamarindo if you want bigger beaches but Tamarindo is a busy congested tourist town. Jusy the travel planner was extremely helpful to find us an excursion that met our needs and also transportation to the airport, She booked us on the Palo Verde boat tour which is a great way to see some wildlife and the villages along the way. Francisco was our guide and driver - he provided us with so much cultural information on top of his kindness! Also if you want a great head to toe massage - just walk down the beach to the right of the hotel( opposite way from the river) , there is a woman named Julie who gives a great head to toe massage for a reasonable price - total luxury while listening to the ocean waves!

Nothing was good at this hotel, people were not friendly and were harassed by the male water aerobics instructor by the pool every day, the food was absolutely terrible and the hotel was not clean, extremely hard to get fresh towels everyday and had to ask for more toilet paper because they don’t restock the rooms daily, this is 100% a falsely advertised hotel we did not get what we expected. We expected a four-star hotel experience as advertised but feel like we received a two star at best. We will never return to this hotel

United StatesThis really isn't an all-inclusive resort. I would say it's more of a larger hotel with some additional amenities. The food wasn't great, and we ended up going to town for most meals besides a simple buffet breakfast. There are 2 restaurants that aren't buffet that are included in the cost every 3 nights you stay. I specifically asked if I could book our dinner the night of and the front desk stated yes. However, when I went to make reservations, the restaurant was booked both nights that I tried. The hotel is outdated but structurally upkept. The room was decent but wasn't very clean. We found long black hairs on the bathroom floor, in the shower, and on the deck. Lastly, the resort felt understaffed. The front end never had more than one person present, so there was always a wait. The snack bar/pool bar had one bartender, so there was always a wait. When you did get served, you really couldn't engage with the staff for too long because they were obviously flustered. Understandably, it's a job, but I do enjoy getting to know some of the staff by asking simple questions and holding a quick convo. If you are more accustomed to larger resorts with multiple bars, restaurants, etc, this is definitely not the place for you.
The staff was very friendly and the location was great. You are right outside of the downtown heart of Tamarindo. If you decide to Uber, each trip is around $6 USD. I really liked the beach area. It felt secluded and had lava formations, which gave some variety. The beach area was very clean, with little to no vendors.
