Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomEverything
This hotel could be good as it has a funky feel to it which many travelers like so much. The biggest issue is the staff and the cleaning. Our room booked had a safe which did not work. In this room we had everything we required and a nice big window with a street view. Because the receptionist could not fix the safe( I had to help change the Batteries) she gave us another room. This room was on the 4th floor. Safe working but like all other floors carpet in communal hall had not be hoovered in the 3 days we were there. The dust on the mirrors were thick and despite complaining that we had now a room never advertised by Booking.com and a loft wit a slit window with no view. Our feelings were disregarded. I emailed the hotel from my room first night early morning as I was so disappointed. First night went to the bar they believe to be the main feature. OK, funky with copper, dark lighting and a few guitars placed strategically but the staff were rude and poor at their work. Placed our first order for a Bottle of beer and a Baileys for my wife. £0 mins later we had to get up and leave, mentioned it to bar staff on our way to our loft but not interested. I will never visit this hotel again. Our last night cost 500 Euros.

United Kingdom1 - The hotel common areas are very dark and i found the signage difficult to read. 2 - The air con was very poor and simply not cold enough. This really was the biggest issue for me and made the stay uncomfortable. 3 - They hotel has these areas for free coffee / tea but have a strange tap - a simple kettle would have sufficed. 4 - Nobody explained the out of hours entry procedure and where the door was - the main door entrance is locked as it also the entrance to a shopping centre - this wasn't explained. 5 - First night i returned in the early hours and the female porter was siting across the road !!! 6 - The shower is a rainfall shower which is nice but can be impractical at times. The hand held shower is useful but, again, impractical. The shower sits on the floor and not in a tray, therefore the water tended to leak under the door into the toilet area. 7 - The wash hand basin is in the room and not in the bathroom. I didn't like that. 8 - The cleanliness of the common hallways looked to be pretty poor and didn't look as though it had been vacuumed for a while.
The main reception area and bar is very nice. The overall appearance of the room is nice and it was relatively quiet with some flats out the back. The room was very fancy but the detail provided to be disappointing. The hotel is very central but still in a quiet street.

SingaporeStaff service was inconsistent and the least friendly we have received during our 4 city break in Germany. The rooms were a very long walk from the lift and there was no phone in the room if we had an issue or question I shared with my son and we were given only 1 towel for showering and 1 small and one big pillow for two of us, neither pillow was comfortable. There was no coffee cups for the Nespresso machine so we had to walk to the kitchen to get some There is no phone in the room so we had to walk the long walk back to reception to ask for more towels/pillows. We had to leave the room when the other person showered as the curtain only covers one side of the shower, The room was too hot and minimum temperature of 22 degrees is too high and the window only opens a small amount even though there is no drop down outside, as we were next to the garden We had a couple of pre-dinner drinks at the bar and the service was slow and not friendly. The hotel rooms are strangely set up and fitted out and don't use the space well
good location, reception and city

GermanyValue for the price, very small rooms, no reception, meaning that reception is the bar. Concept Hotel doesn’t mean low service. The main thing is the facility is overvalued…

AustraliaThere was an expectation that we should tip at every transaction in circumstances where the service wasn't very good. They seemed to be consistently understaffed, so table service isn't really proper table service when you have to go to the bar to order because nobody will come to your table and ask you what you would like, then go back to your table and wait 10 minutes for your drink to arrive and they've then brought a different tonic to the one you ordered. Likewise, we purchased breakfast one morning and were expected to pay a tip BEFORE we'd had the experience of having to wait at the bar for 15 minutes for a cappuccino because the one and only barista was also having to check people into the hotel at the bar during the busy breakfast period. The actual breakfast overall really wasn't that great compared to other hotels of that standard either, so I really felt duped having 'pre-tipped'. Once, having waited 45 mins for a small pizza, I elected not to tip, and the staff member was visibly unhappy. It is the sort of culture we expect in America.
Beautifully appointed, brand new hotel opened in December 2023 in the centre of Stuttgart. Walking distance to so many wonderful attractions there.

GermanyHotel has a smell of paint / furniture, and there is no phone or any other way to contact reception so you have to go downstairs if you need anything. The hotel lacks personal, the reception is also bartender, which means in the evening they have no capacity for hotel customers.

TurkeyFacilities, Cleaning, Room Condition. There was just a shakedown on the floor! Seriously not a real Bed! The room was really small. And not so clean. Staying 2 person in this room was a challenge. Room and the photos on booking was completely different. At least there was a real bed on photos!
Location center of the city. Helpful staff. Value for the money if you will stay very short.

SwitzerlandThe hotel itself was fine, but the check-in process felt a bit unwelcoming. When we arrived, we were simply told (in English) that check-in was at 3 o’clock—no greeting or further explanation. We had to ask if it was possible to leave our luggage, which was allowed, but it would have been nice if that had been offered proactively. Additionally, the restaurant was closed during our stay, but we only found out about this much later, which was disappointing as we had planned to eat there. Clearer communication in advance would have made a big difference.
Location! The room was really nice.
