Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNothing: the only thing that I would suggest to the management is to establish a medical aid inside the structure, not private as it is now: for a little problem they charge 215 usd for the visit, which is unacceptable, and their pharmacy's medications are priced much more than in the US.
Everything was great: a white private sandy beach, an incredibly well groomed, huge land of trees, Palms and flowers, the golf course, great facilities with several restaurants. Food is excellent and various, and the whole stuff is professional, nice and friendly. Rooms are big, comfortable and clean. Entertainment is various and well performed. It is quite rare to find all these positive qualities in one place.

Dominican RepublicI didn't like the fact that the adults only pool doesn't have a bar from inside the pool, that is not comfortable if you are drinking whilst in the pool.
I loved the room, the service was great. The employees are kind and helpful. The night shows were very good and the access to the club is amazing. I went to celebrate my birthday and they even sent a cake into my room.

BrazilDrinks not very good but OK, beer is below par. Cocktails need more punch, I had to ask explicitly to make them stronger. Chairs reservation: Although explicitly written in signs near the pool, customers reserve chairs for future use. They put towels like 10am and will take it out when they leave after the sun goes down. They do the same at the beach, so you will have no chairs to sit, even though less than 50% of the chairs will have people on them. The hotel fails to enforce this rule, it's very annoying. I bet most of the people will reserve a chair in the pool and the beach at the same time, while they could be in their room. Some guests would turn on their boomboxes in the pool although strictly prohibited, but once again I did not see any employee doing anything about it. In 2 of our nights, the fire alarm went off and woke us up. In the 2nd time, my wife called and complained, and had to hear from the manager that we were smoking in the room, which not only is false, but also irrelevant since the alarm was coming from the hallway. Kyoto restaurant served teppan meal, but the beef was not even near what a real teppan would serve. I did not pay since I was at premium level, but I would be angry if I did. My wife has been to Melia last year, and ate at the Teppan, said it was MUCH better. Again, stick with the Caribe restaurant if you're not in premium level, it's free and good. The beach is great but a lot of boats will park nearby with loud music, sometimes 2 or 3 boats playing music simultaneously which can become chaotic.
I stayed at the Premium level and beach was right in front, great view. Room is old fashioned but large with huge bed. Noise did not bother me. Food was not great but good and had good variety. I went to 2 premium restaurants, the Kyoto was not good but La comedie was ok. Caribe restaurant was the best for me and it's free. The pool and beach area are very nice. Adults only section is strict, I did not see a single kid there. Some people complained about the lack of music but we loved that. It has some music in the restaurants but very calm.

GermanyFirst, the positive aspects: The entire resort is located directly on a beautiful and clean beach – it takes no more than five minutes to walk there from your room. If you don’t feel like going to the beach, there’s also a lovely pool with an inviting cocktail bar. The food is varied and tastes good. Check-out was also great: although we had to leave the room by 12:00 p.m., we were allowed to stay on the premises and use all facilities for the rest of the day, as our flight wasn’t until the evening. You can play table tennis and there’s also a foosball table. Overall, the property is spacious, well-maintained, and nicely landscaped. The less positive aspects: The entertainment program is more tailored to guests aged 60+ and generally rather unspectacular. Communication with the hotel was difficult – in fact, there was no contact beforehand, and there was no support for the airport transfer upon arrival. The sea at this location is full of seaweed, making it nearly impossible to swim in. The service at the bar was sometimes moody, and simple requests were met with snippy replies. The rooms, while relatively clean, were somewhat outdated – especially the bathroom, which was by no means comfortable. All in all, we don’t regret our stay, but we would choose a different hotel next time.

United StatesI noticed the lifeguard playing with his phone while people were in the water. I used to be a lifeguard and you can not be distracted because someone can drown in seconds. While on duty NO PHONE ALLOWED. Leave it in the dressing room and supervision is important. I was sitting at the bar and 2 people were smoking next to me when I’m not a smoker. There should be significant smoking areas and again supervisión is necessary. Or that can be assigned to security
The food was great and the chance to eat at the Palace was great because they had more of a variety. The speciality restaurants were great too. The little train was wonderful. The staff is always exceptional.

United StatesEverything was great. Perhaps the only negative was the reservation at La Brisa restaurant for our first night. There were supposed to serve us two apprritives, a cold one and a hot one. They only brought one. We waited and waited and they when they brought the dessert I asked about the missing appetizer and no one could give us an explanation. It was disappointing.
Our room was in block 2 of the adults only side on the third floor with a beautiful view of the beach. It was perfect.

United StatesThe restaurants get overbooked quick and then they don’t allow any more reservations or have waiting lists even though tables sit empty at the restaurants. Staff at the restaurant are professional, but some can be rude. The pineapple drink lady should not be working there, she is always upset and rude. They had good entertainment some nights but the shows are only about an hour long, they should do more. Bars are great and the staff is friendly and accommodating, but ingredients for some drinks are are cheap or synthetic.
The property was great, pool was also good. The beach was not all that good due to seaweeds.

United StatesSome staff (such as those at the rum & cigar bar) were not friendly or welcoming and it made me hesitate to return as it felt as if I was inconveniencing them by going. Many channels listed in the hotel’s tv guide were not available on the TV (not that you come here to watch tv but it’s sometimes nice to wind down at night). Unless you have a strong stomach (which I sadly do not), be judicious about what you eat at the buffets - the nature of the buffet is that food can sit out for a while (not the staff’s fault, just the way it is). I had an upset stomach the first day (wouldn’t call it food poisoning as it was not serious) due to overindulging in meat and seafood that had probably sat longer than it should have. So just be aware of what you eat.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here, and I feel I got a great value for money paid. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms, the ease of navigating the facility (only about a ten minute walk to Palace side), beach setup and availability of chairs, and general maintenance. The check-in staff whose names I unfortunately don’t remember were friendly and helpful, as were the bellhops who help you get taxis. I ate at the buffet for all meals as I was just one person and I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of reservations for other dining options, but I see how it could be frustrating to some. There seemed to be a good availability of activities including salsa and karaoke. The property is not far from the airport so navigation was easy. I would stay here again. Many people prefer a beach with no waves, which is what this property offers. It is beautiful but if you like waves, like I do, this may not be the option for you as apparently there is a sea reef that prevents large waves from forming. Staff at the Caribe buffet were great. Some people have noted that housekeeping comes early in the morning which is true but there is a “do not disturb” sign in the closet - I missed it for a number of days.

United StatesThe fixtures in the bathroom need to be updated. The drain topper in the sink was missing, and the topper in the tub was loose. The shower plug was hard to pull, and the glass on the tub didn't seem very secure. In addition, the mini bar refrigerator didn't keep the beverages cold enough.
The room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff, they were wonderful! Marleney and Freyner aka ' Chris Brown de Temu" kept the party going during the day at the pool and at night. It was an amazing time dancing (bachata night was my favorite) and mingling with the other guests. The food was delicious as well.
