How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bad was not ready. I can hear what happens in the next room because of bad walls.
Clean and calm. Everything needed was given. The room was available at late incoming.

The services were not so clean and the bedrooms are really small. For two people is fine but not for 3/4 for sure
Me and my friend were alone in a room for 4 people. We have been lucky considering that we arrived in the hostel at 00:30, otherwise we would have bothered the other people sleeping in the same bedroom

It would be nice to have warm water in the bathroom, as well as power plugs close to the common tables.
Basic services are there, such as a simple bed and bathrooms and kitchen.

I wouldn't say I didn't like it, I rather say I expected it and all was true - extremely unbelievable audibility, a very small room, pretty stuffy inside. But for such money, to stay half of the night before an early flight is good (depending on your luck!)
It's quite close to the airport. Check-in was very simple via code. I was lucky enough - in my border room, there were no people, so I was alone in 4 beds tiny room. It's hard to imagine my stay if there would be more than one person inside, or if it was a middle room. While in the neighborhood, there were some loud guys, but they went to sleep in ok time.

I don’t recoment at all, don’t stay 1) it’s far away from old town, one night my friend living in Talinn drop me to the hostel, because it was rainy, he said this neighborhood is worse of talinn 2) it’s in basement of a building, no windows, felt like i was in a jail 3) there are nothing around , no restaurant - no market … 4) stay in old town, i am writing from Riga , wich is my next stop after Talinn. If it is rainy - go back to hostel , if you need to change clothes go back to the hostel . Wich i am doing so in riga 5) rooms are too small, no comen area, one plug for four people in the dorm, beds are low - can hit your head. 6) i stayed in a kebap restaurant all day long in my second, because it was heavy rainy , and can’t stay in hostel (my friend’s restaurant Talinn Pizza and Kebab) . I open my pc and write a post for my blog in the restaurant 7) we travelers are not so poor. Especially if you are a lady - never ever think here 8) owner of the hostels stays during 11 am to 1 pm . Rest of the day - nobody

The russian radio in the background all the time. Not nice. Also, should check the shower drain more often, water went veeery slowly, so looks like it might be clogged. But other than those, nothing to complain about.
There was no staff, like, literally no one the whole time I was there. Maybe because I arrived and left not in the provided times but later/earlier? Well, not that they were needed, because the staff sent me beforehand the door code & room number I'm to stay and that's it. First time I stayed in a hostel where we're left to our own devices, but was no problem at all. The bedding & towel was provided and the place is small enough to figure everything out, since all the rooms are labeled. So all in all, an ok stay. Was nice that the bed had a curtain.

The location is good for a night before a flight, and it was easy to check in, but it wasn't clean enough, it smelled of sweat and dirty socks, and there is no good ventilation and no windows in the room. One man was watching YouTube in the other room without any headphones when everyone was already sleeping.

This is not a real hostel!! I was greeted by some Ukrainian men (and men only) of 45+ years old. Although they tried to be polite and everything, I had an impression that they were actually living there. No other young backpackers or girls were present. It stank old socks, there were no windows in the rooms, the kitchen was dirty, the place was just very creepy. I didn't feel safe at all so I left just after "checking in" (but there was no actual check-in. One of the men just showed me the bed). It was scary and disappointing. Not recommended for any solo girl traveller!!! A guy could maybe survive this but only if must.
Absolutely nothing positive to say.

everything is dirty
The most worst hostel in the whole world A big warning don’t use it …. WARNING ⛔️ The location is very bad, the smells are unbearable, the bed is worn out, the bed covers and towels are dirty and have dirty smells...... Be careful not to rent it even if you sleep outside in the cold
