Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe choice of menu in the restaurant is not very good. The rooms are a bit run down. The property is quite old and can do with some repairs and doing up.
The hotel is next to the monkey forest with lots of greenery, two good sized pools and a stream running at the back. Breakfast had a good spread. I was not too happy about the coffee. However, when requested, the staff served me Nescafe which was good. The architectural styles of the buildings have an antique feel. The room allocated to me was quite spacious with a balcony overlooking the fields and the forest. I was advised by the staff to keep the balcony door closed at all times as the sacred monkeys were always around and would enter the room foraging for food. I regularly saw a smal troupe of monkeys stationed in the balcony looking for an opportunity to get in. One morning, I heard a bang and saw a clever monkey running and crashing against the locked balcony door with an aim to open it. Fortunately, the balcony doors are sliding glass doors with tough and durable glass. Since the monkeys are protected, they are quite bold. I learnt this when I tried to open the balcony door one morning and a couple of monkeys started charging towards the door without fear. I had to lock the door in a hurry. However, one can sit peacefully in the balcony (of course closing the door of the balcony behind )and watch their frolics as they move around the property. I grew up with monkeys in India. I was comfortable with their presence. It is possible that guests who are not familiar with the presence of monkeys might find it a bit uncomfortable. Having said that, the hotel is a very good place to watch their amusing and funny antics from the safety of their rooms and can get some great videos as well. For such guests, it is comforting to note that the hotel staff patrol the area regularly chasing the monkeys away. The good sized double bed was quite comfortable and was fitted with a good mosquito net . The air-conditioning was very effective. The rooms are quiet except for sounds of the forest and the calming sound of the flowing stream. The staff are very good.

AustraliaCut backs after covid have mean that theres no longer a laundry service. And sadly some of the buildings have fallen into disrepair. Also monkeys are more of a pest than they used to be before covid. But the staff do their best to keep your stay hassle free.
Love the grounds and where the hotel is. Convenient for any part of Ubud. Staff as always were amazing and couldnt do enough to help or assist if they could.

AustraliaThe hotel was almost deserted. They were only at about 10 to 15% capacity when we were there, however we were given rooms as far as possible away from the main hotel area and facilities which made it feel like we were in the back lane somewhere. this meant it was a decent walk up to breakfast or to go out onto the street and it just felt like no one was around. It was quite lonely down there in the back lane. I feel like it would have been a better experience if we had known we would be so far away from other people
The staff here were fantastic and caring. The hotel is in a good location, easy to get to the monkey forest, as well as all the restaurants and nightlife on Monkey Forest Road.

GermanyThe monkeys sometimes were too much, but the staff did everything they could to make you feel safe and walk around.
The hotel is super nice, the staff is the best! We had great conversations, they helped us with any problem and called taxis for us. Putu was the best! She is super nice! The location is great, you reach everything in Ubud by foot. There were monkeys on the hotel grounds which was funny. The breakfast was good and the bed was cozy. We had a mosquito net and much space!

UkraineNothing really, it was a very pleasant experience
The location is great - 20 min on foot to Ubud Art Market, right next to Monkey Forest, so you can see the monkey leisurely playing on balconies - just be careful not to leave any food or anything else outside. Breakfast was good, served 7 till 10 am, the selection isn’t super wide, but the food is good. Spa: I had relaxing massage every day - their masseuse Budi is very attentive and professional, and super lovely too - although I’d say everyone is super lovely there! There are two swimming pools, sun-beds, lots of greenery on the territory, it’s quite quiet there, despite its proximity to the shopping street and the forest - all very nice.

United KingdomHad stayed here before and found it so lovely and relaxing we decided to come back for 2 weeks. This was our rest and relaxation portion of our trip and it was anything but. We had to move room after the first night. We had a toad trapped in our room which woke us up. We thought it was a rat it was making that much noise. We were then kept up by a rooster that started at 3 am and didn't stop. We got moved to another room but we were still woken up/kept up by the rooster. We got kept up quite alot by monkeys fighting on the roof. I appreciate the hotel is right next to the monkey forest and they try their best to keep them out. If people are using the bottom pool should have staff monitoring it we watched a monkey jump onto a table of people and take food off their plates and then a couple of hours later a monkey took an expensive sunscreen out of our bag while we were in the pool and there was no staff. The monkeys don't come near if the staff are around. There was a big gap in the patio doors so when the grounds staff started sweeping up at 7am we were being woken up by that, which after being kept up most of the night was a bit frustrating. There was 2 different groups of international students who's behaviour left little to be desired. If you are going to cater to massive groups and have other guests you will need more pool loungers and maybe remind big groups there are other guests also staying at the hotel. We had to leave or couldn't even use the pool areas several times during our stay bue to their behaviour. The last week of our stay we had trouble with no water coming out of the shower. I had to spend 10 minutes sitting on the bed in a towel covered in shower gel with shampoo in my hair because the water went off. We honestly left so exhausted and disappointed. Would not stay here again
The room was a great size. It's in a good location, lots within walking distance. Resturant staff are lovely.

United StatesFlavors of traditional foods. Was dry and looked old. People were sneezing around food. Even a few of staff. And did not wash hands. 50% of staff was nice.. most did not look happy. Lots of steps. To get anywhere on property. Mold and dirty bathroom. Monkeys approached our room aggressively when we tried to leave our room. Not well kept.. if the put you in the end rooms 144,145, 146 you can hear street traffic. And horns honking
Breakfast: Good egg omelet, juice, fruit and toast Liked waking up and seeing the monkeys outside. Nice pool. Good a/c. Place has potential
