An ideal property for a short stay close to Rosslare Ferry Port

The techy TV was difficult to use for someone non-techy like me!

Surprisingly capacious and perfect for a short stay. Quiet and clean. Comfortable bed. I arrived on the evening ferry from Fishguard and the property was easy to find. Best of all Aldi was only a short walk away to get provisions. The town centre is quite close for an evening out.

My wife, because she's that way inclined... felt that the decor could do with a bit of a modernising makover. I'm a bloke... I didn't even notice... or care! 🤣 I thought the couch/sofa was horribly uncomfortable. I'm quite tall, with some mobility issues, so getting up off it was pretty difficult for me. No idea what was going on with the tv. Full instructions are provided, but we could not find live channels!

After a full week travelling around Ireland, we were only staying for the night, ready for our trip back to the UK. To be honest, since we had to plan for an early start, I wasn't really bothered. As long as it was clean and comfortable, that would have been good enough for me. However, as soon as we walked in, I was impressed at how much better it was than the photographs made it look. Got to be honest, they're not good photographs! The kitchen was clean and I thought it would have been perfectly fine for a few days self-catering. Everything you'd need, apart from food, was provided. The bed was comfortable... although having said that, after a week on the road, a wooden plank would have been comfortable! 🤣 The bathroom was clean, but again, since we had to be up and gone early, it didn't get used much. There's a Tesco Extra in Wexford, not far from the property, so stocking up on essentials would have been no problem. It was easy to find. We didn't meet the host, but full instructions for entry were provided and I'm sure they would have been there if we'd had any problems. I loved the picture on the wall!! 😊 It took just 25 minutes to get to Rosslare ferry terminal... and that was with roadworks slowing everything down! I'd happily stay here again. We stayed at quite a few b&b's on this trip, with a wide range of quality, but I think this Airbnb convinced us that this is our best option when we next return to Ireland.

The toilet was plugged and we needed to call the owner. He came fairly quickly and fixed it. The kitchen was very old with limited supplies. The bed was hard and the pillows very thin.

The check in was easy and we were able to get into the room easily.

the shower facilities are not ups to scratch. very little flow of water. you cant use the toilet and have a shower at the same time. it needs time to build up water reserve. Plumping is interconnected. when flusing the toilet you can hear the water move in the kitchen sink!! bathroom has holes in the ceiling around the van. the shower itself is so small when turning slightly to reach for soap can accidentally turn the shower knob to hot and could potentially hurt someone.

it was quiet. lots of equipment (of which im not sure if it is that useful, such as a kitchenette, ironing board and even a hover). good night sleep which is the main thing, so no noise and good blinds to keep the light out are the most important things you need.

The room had a slight dampness to it.

Great location, clean. The owner was very efficient and communicated instructions clearly. Contactless check-in and check out. The price was very reasonable, especially during the weekend of the Fleadh. We were going to a wedding, and I messaged the owner about an early check in, he kept me in the loop and facilitated an early check-in. There is a kitchen with everything you need and instructions in the room on how to use the hob. It is a very handy location for Newbay House.

The lock box was a tiny bit high to reach, I still managed though. If I had trouble I'm sure the manager would have helped as he had given me his number should I need help.

Nice clean place all the facilities that I needed and a hot water bottle! There wasn't anywhere to plug in my phone etc so, one was brought to me straightaway. In the morning the room was warm , the bathroom was clean and the shower was easy to use. The kitchen had everything that the normal person would need.

Bed felt a bit cold at night despite having heater on beside it, making it hard to get a proper night's sleep. No towel racks to place used towels.

Had all the facilities I needed, like a kettle, fridge, oven, shower, TV etc. Oven was handy to cook the odd pizza. Tea bags and milk were provided to make tea. Chocolate biscuits were also provided. You can stream Netflix on the tv. I binged watched episodes of a show for both nights. Not in town centre but not too far to walk, at least for me anyway. A few bus stops are a short walk away, for both local and long distance services. The main hospital is near by as well as the racecourse. There is an Aldi just around the corner for families staying to get food, drink, etc. Rate was very good value for money when compared to most hotels. I would recommend staying here again.

The bed is fairly comfortable but not brilliant. An unexpected cut in the water supply was a pain on the last night

A warm welcome which was much appreciated as I arrived soaking. Although I didn't get to meet the host, he had laid on basics for hot drinks.
