Lovely folks running the pub and inn. They were very accommodating. Great food (though they may not have food service every night in the slow season, especially if you're coming in late, worth calling in advance) and we had a very fun time at the small bar. Nice breakfast as well (self-serve cold food and made-to-order eggs, meat, and drinks). We really really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful countryside. Amazing view out of every window. Would recommend it to friends and would love to come back!

Only small complaint was the beep beep of the life saving device on the front wall. Great to have one nearby but not so great to hear a beep throughout the night if window is open.

The two gals who worked in the pub made the experience a bit of a downfall for us. One evening the total for dinner was 40.30, she charged me 44.00 without me okaying this. I only found out after looking at my bank statement and thought it was curious that the conversion so much. We were sitting at a table with 5 seats and were asked to move to a table with two seats, no problem. But nobody else was asked to move that evening (other groups of 2, but sitting at the table of 5), plus another evening where one gentleman sat at a 5 seat table by himself. We were also only told the soup and specials on one evening during our stay, whereas everybody around us got them so that’s how we found out what they were. In trying to make conversation or talk to them, we got barely any conversation at all, but others got full conversations. We felt a little bit that we weren’t welcome there, although we came back every night hoping it’d be better. Also a couple off guests were given another key to our room and tried to unlock the door before we went down to dinner. The guests with the second key were given an apology, we received nothing which was a little unnerving it wasn’t even addressed to us.

Loved the convenience of the pub, Boris is very hospitable and gave us suggestions of what we should do or see every morning, plus when we were going back upstairs after dinner. Easy check-in and very easy to find.

The pub is cosy and staff were friendly. The Guinness was great. The bedroom was very spacious. The view was incredible and surrounding BallyDavid countryside is spectacular. It is convienient for a hike to Mount Brandon. The coastline is stunning. We had both dinner and breakfast, the food is delicious and abundant.
