Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaOur family had a wonderful stay here. The owners are very kind (and it’s so nice to see their daughter help them out at such young age). The breakfast was excellent and when they found out that I forgot to return the spare key, they gave us different options for returning the key to them, based on what the easiest way was for us. Thank you!

IrelandBreakfast - I did think the fruit salad a little skimpy as it was mostly water melon. I did expect a better selection of fruit in the salad, quantity was good just the variety of fruit. The rest of the breakfast was perfect.
The room was really clean and the bed very comfortable, I am used to a king size bed at home so was unsure that the double bed would be ok but honestly I got the best nights sleep - sheets were lovely ****

United KingdomNothing.
Everything about our stay was perfect. Our room was beautiful, nicely decorated, fantastic shower, comfortable bed and tea/coffee and biscuits in our room. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice of cereal, yogurts, fruit and much more. The views from the dining room was amazing. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful in every way. Nothing was too much trouble for them and really made our stay very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

United KingdomThe bed was very uncomfortable. There was also a large note left on the spare single bed in the room which more or less said do not touch this bed in anyway or you will be charged extra . Which we wouldn’t have done and found this a bit strange because we’ve never encountered that before . But if you’ve paid for the room it shouldn’t really matter what bed you sleep on .
The house was very clean and welcoming and Helen and her family were lovely… the house is in a good location remote and quiet …

SpainThey have glass blocks between the hallway and bedroom, which felt a bit weird. (Maybe a curtain would be good there). And a note on the single bed saying, "This bed is for twin or triple room bookings only. Please do not use or place luggage on as there will be a charge/fee." If I can book a twin room, I always do, but the fact the paper was on the bed was a bit offensive to me. I've never seen that before, and so we both slept in the small double bed. The next morning, Helen (the hostess) said that we could have just taken the paper off and slept on it. No problem! Then was too late. Also, the Internet did not work in that room for my husband, nor I. Only when we were at the breakfast table.
Nice welcome. Nice breakfast. Blackout curtains.

IrelandIf you are travelling and looking to stay here with children- AVOID An Charraig Ban!!!!! Reckon previous comments HAVE to be couples only. Certainly NOT child friendly atall!! For our holiday, I travelled 3 hours by car, alongside my 71 year old mother and 3 sons stopping for a one night stay here. Situated in a barren middle of no-where with nothing around only mountain-scape- on arrival I was met at the door by an extremely snooty looking host, who showed us to our rooms. Room was fine, until.. @8.30 I needed to go shop and so I left my mother with 2 boys. Came back to an upset mother and children. Mam had allowed the boys to explore outdoors (there were goal posts) and the "host" came in on top of my mother in a disturbing manner ordering the boys to be quiet. @10.30 as I was trying to settle the boys for bed, she came back down, this time actually ssssshing us, in her mini bathrobe telling us "other guests" wanted to sleep. There's loudness and there's simple child's play. My children were playing. I was actually looking forward to the fire-pit showed in the pictures- there was none. Two of my sons are diagnosed autistic and because of her attack, one boy ended up a lot of the night crying and growling with tummy aches due to anxiety. Wish a stag weekend would land on top of her... . Ruined the start of our holiday. For 230 a night, and a bitta cold Weetabix in the morning.... or a triangle of cheese on a single sliced, hardened bagel.... She seen us coming, don't let her fool you. Thank God, we now have a house to ourselves, for 170 per night and with its own outdoor hotbub!!

United StatesMy only window was on a back yard / farm yard view or like the garage so no way to get fresh air. Bathroom shower head wouldn’t stay on the pedestal. Tiles in bathroom unglued so made noise shifted when using the toilet/ rest room Waste paper only operated by foot pedal but would have to relocate to use. Place was mostly empty but I was below a parent/ child so listened to that. It always makes me wonder if owners think about maybe having a guest use a nicer or quieter room if it is available? or is this really about the owner?. I seemed to be wasting someone’s time.

United StatesWe particularly loved the gracious welcome we received from our hosts. The room itself was spotless. And the breakfast was lovely. Exploring Donegal was a true joy, and this B&B offered an ideal location. We would love to return.
