How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing. Everything perfect.
Patsy and Anne were wonderful hosts. Accomodation was luxurious and immaculately clean. Tea making facility in the room. Beautiful location not far from Donegal but still in the countryside and so quiet at night. Good tasty breakfast supplied. Would highly recommend.

There was nothing about Eas Dun Lodge we didn't like.
My sister and I loved everything about Eas Dun Lodge. Ann and Patsy were amazing hosts and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We travelled extensively in Ireland and stayed in 10-12 B&Bs and Eas Dun Lodge rates way ahead of the others.

An insect screen may be needed on the roof window to keep out critters when the bathroom light is on at night. The toilet has a "lazy flush". Each of us had to flush up to 4 times to empty the bowl. A couple of milk sachets would be nice in the refrigerator; I prefer milk in my coffee or tea to having them black.
Breakfast was great with lots of choice. One of us enjoyed eggs and the other especially liked the varieties of yogurt. Tea/coffee and kettle in the room were great, as was having a refrigerator. The bathroom was quite spacious; the Velux roof window in bathroom was great for ventilation and light. The shower worked really well. Tourist information is provided, as is a lovely sitting room on the main floor.

It's a few kms out of Donegal township, but that didn't worry us at all.
The hosts were friendly and helpful. The location is quiet. Our room had everything that we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent - great water pressure and plenty of it. Breakfast was also good. It was continental, but with an option to have a limited cooked breakfast as well.

The hosts were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, with great views of the well maintained garden, and the neighboring countryside. The house is in a fantastic location; we could have spent a month doing great hikes and walks in the area. And the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay at this place again. Each morning, Ann and Patsy really looked after me with breakfast. They provide eggs and toast along with a continental breakfast. It was lovely to eat while looking out at the views in the breakfast room. It's a lovely quiet area with a lovely bed, great for getting a good night's sleep. It's in a gorgeous area with lovely views of Lough Eske.

We stayed in Eas Dun Lodge which is in a stunning location,for 3 nights. Our room was cosy, exceptionally clean and very well equipped with tv, kettle, fridge, table, hairdryer etc. The bed was very comfortable. Our breakfast was really lovely, setting us up well for the day. Ann and Patsy are fantastic hosts, lovely warm people who couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you so much for everything.

Little warm in room, but nothing an open window couldn't fix.
Beautifully maintained property and the hosts go over and above to help. Very clean with good facilities (breakfast room, shared living room). Breakfast service prompt and yummy. Water pressure in the shower exceptional. Lovely views in quiet location with easy access to town by car.
