Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMinor point - 3 hooks on the back of the bathroom door. 6 occupants so nowhere for the other 3 people to hang towels.
Great vibe in the place when you enter. Bar area with music and people mingling/chilling. Staff were attentive and helpful. Good shower with lots of hot water and nice handwash. I was in a 6 bed all female room with en suite Small shelf above the bed to put a few items and a reading light which was great. Big storage drawer on wheels under the bed - bring a largish padlock or you can buy one at reception.

NetherlandsThe rooms were pretty hot and didn't have AC. Pillows weren't great, pretty thin.
Very cool place, a nice bar with billiard and shuffleboard tables. A very nice social area to hang out with friends! Location is conveniently near the city center and a shared bike point, making movement around the city easy. Friendly staff!

United KingdomIt hasn't been cleaned anone of the days, unfortunately. There was no bathroom mat or even a towel when you step out of the shower. The water was alright though. There was also a bad smell in the bathroom.
20 minutes to walk to the Temple bar and the rest of the attractions. It was not too loud at night, although could hear people hanging around singing or making noise. But for me, it was not annoying. Used my earplugs. Mind the fact if you need a hairdryer, you need to ask reception for it. Liked that there are at least 3-4 cafes to grab coffee and breakfast.

BelgiumI stayed in a 6th dorm room on the ground floor. The room didnt look like the pictures at all. It was very small(old and not clean) and only one bathroom in the room and no other bathroom available on the floor. Reading the reviews i think there is a big difference if you stay on ground floor or higher floors....only one bathroom availabe and no other toilets|bathroom on the floor is not acceptable.
Nice bar with great atmosphere. Most of the staff was friendly. Good breakfast. And also they offered free taxi from airport to hostel on my booking.com account which is a big plus.

AustraliaThe bathrooms were on split floors, I was roomed on the second floor and had to go to the first floor to use the bathrooms, this is very inconvenient when waking up mid night needing to use the toilet. Only selected showers had hot water and overall the showers were not overly clean. We were unable to purchase coffee of a morning until the bar opened at 10am
Great location! Right around the corner from Jameson which was great. We had great staff experience upon check in!

United StatesNo kitchen, no microwave or place to store the food, that’s a little odd for an hostel, I’ve been to hundreds of hostel and they always have at least a kettle or something, it gets so pricey to eat outside if you stay for a while
The bar was very nice and the events as well, we spent some great nights there and the DJ was super cool

Czech RepublicThe music in the communal areas was sometimes way too loud. There is a bar downstairs, so be aware there is loads of noise on the street below as well as noisy guests slamming the doors of their rooms constantly at night. Nothing the earplugs wouldn't solve, though. Continental breakfast was very basic with a little choice, not worth the money from my point of view. However, if you prefer to eat on the site, the option is there. I was hugely disappointed by the state of the en-suite bathroom in the female 6-bed dormitory (room 208). There was black mould in the bathroom and it was just disgusting. The shower cubicle hasn't been cleaned properly for ages, apparently. And the bathroom floor deserved a proper scrub! I complained about this at the front desk and they arranged additional cleaning promptly, however, that didn't solve the problems with the black mould. The other room mates complained as well, nothing changed. We all felt that given the fact we paid extra for the en-suite, it was not worth the money at all. The communal showers were all clean, however, our en-suite bathroom was in a rough shape and the cleaning was simply insufficient - long term! This kind of black mould and dirt does not appear after a few days...
Everyone at the front desk was really helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The location was great, literally 20 mins walking distance to the city centre. All sites on your doorstep. A bus stop for local city buses and the Dublin Express was round the corner, just 3 mins walk down the street. Cafés and local food stores (Tesco Express, Lidl) on the tip of your nose!

BrazilYou pay A LOT of money to leave your bag there out of check in hours, no toilet paper, reception has no support on information. Its a big space full of people but with no interaction, no soul. No way to charge your phone if you don't buy from them an adapter. However, you probably can adapt your own charger to use it instead of buying them one adapter, they are not going to tell you this.
